Before they added barriers on both sides. The important thing is that it is one lane now and has been that way for decades. That’s what I said earlier, without the guardrails, it is technically 2 lanes

I don’t want to get into a pissing match here but it IS a one lane bridge as currently configured. And as it has been configured that way for at least 3 decades.

It technically is a two lane bridge, but it's just used as a one lane bridge. Won't be sad that's gone. Will help alleviate traffic out of Corvallis faster! Two lanes? Yes, it technically was built as a two lane bridge. One in and one out. How do you think the rest of the traffic got across the Willamette before the two lane bridge going in was built? On rafts like the Oregon Trail game?

So when I attempt to pass that Escalade on the left as I’m going over the bridge and proceed to peel the side panels off of both cars, I can at least contemplate the comforting knowledge that, “It was built as a two lane bridge”.

Let me guess, you drive an Escalade and my post struck a little too close to home?

Two lanes when people drove Model T's & A's (got that in there 😋). As cars got bigger, they finally had to build the second bridge. Let's watch people scrape the paint on their F350's trying 2 by 2, especially with a bicycle or 3 riding over.
