Placing Oregon State, Maryland, and maybe even Texas A&M ahead of UCONN may draw ire from a significant number of Husky fans, but the poll reflects the fact that the long period of exclusive dominance by UCONN has ended. And similarly, why Stanford remains among the best in the Pac-12 and Nationally, the rise of Oregon State (and Oregon -ughhh!- among others) has changed the complexion of WCBB.

Three in the top six and four in the top ten. Pac 12 is becoming even a tougher gauntlet every year.

So very true. Here is a link to the thread about this topic that was posted this morning on The Boneyard, UConn's message board. If you haven't taken a trip to The Boneyard to see how passionate women's collegiate basketball fans can be, it is worth a look (or two). the-boneyard.com/threads/ncaa-preseason-top-10.147491/#post-3287046

UCLA gets a friendly bump from the conference schedule this season....They don't play Oregon or OSU on the road..That could be a real boost to their conference win/loss percentage...They play Oregon and OSU at home only....
The Beavs have very tough road games at Phoenix, Tucson, UCLA, Stanford, and Oregon....That's 5 games that would challenge any team in the country......It's gonna be a tension filled, nail-bitin' season. GO BEAVS
