Well, it is an honor to be selected to give them a game.

It can be nothing but positive. If they win handily, well, they're going to beat everybody in the world pretty handily. So that's supposed to happen. If we do something neat like give them a game and be in it for 3 quarters, what a confidence boost! Every kid on our squad knows this is the best basketball team they will ever play against in their lives. If they can hang around and demonstrate to themselves that that they can play with these guys ... then they're going to know that they can play with anybody, anytime, anywhere.
No matter what, I'm looking forward to the game. Not too terribly often that an olympic team comes to Corvallis. Hope we have a big turnout; I've ordered my tickets.

Interviews with Rueck, Destiny and Aleah are on Rivals... free to view. For some reason I can’t paste links to them recently (somehow blocked?).
In the interview with the coach, he indicated that Mitrovic is getting stronger and seemed to suggest she is getting closer. He did say he is hoping to utilize her this year (for those of you who have suggested she might redshirt). I hope to see her on the floor Nov. 4th!

How cool is it that we are going to get to see the best team in the world play our girls? I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm extremely excited. Are we really going to see Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi go toe to toe with Goodman and Slocum?
It's actually a bummer some of our past teams didn't get to experience this.

From the usab.com article, "Past USA Basketball teams ahead of the 1996, 2000 and 2008 Olympic Games competed against collegiate teams...." So, only the past OSU teams from those 3 years would have had a chance to play them....but OSU never would have been invited since they were never as good as Scott's recent teams.

A guy at the gym bought tickets to the USA game yesterday, and he said that all seats in the first 2 levels are sold. Nothing left but the upper levels. Don't know what's left there, but it sounds like you'd best not delay too long if you're planning on going.

Glad to see such great fan support....Especially good considering that season ticket holders don't get in for free.....Shows real support for Team USA and the Beavs....
High attendance for the game will reflect positively on the program.....Especially considering that, in all likelihood, the Beavs are gonna get thumped in this game. Plus it's played on a Monday night..... At any rate, I hope it's a Fill Gill evening.... GO BEAVS !!

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but I don't think the Beavs are going to get "thumped" in this one. We do play pretty good defense. If we can keep the rebound margin respectable, we can keep the final score respectable. I look for us to lose by 16 or 17, a solid win for them, but not a thumping. Losing a football game 52-7, that's a thumping.

I am OK with thumpage, close loss, whatever, since it doesn't affect our W-L for the season or tournament situation. What I am more interested in is the ability to engage in the time-honored practice of transitive comparisons to other teams that team USA will play that we *do* care about from a W-L and tourney perspective.....I know those transitive comparisons are usually not worth the pixels they are written with, but what else will we fans do on this board after the game? :-)
Oh, and being able to say I was there.......
Go Beavers!

Delle Donne not playing on the college tour. Too bad wanted to see all the best. Poor woman is so darn injury prone. Would have loved for Kennedy to get to play against her, as Kennedy wants to become a 6’5 perimeter player like Elena.
