Luke seems to be completely lost.
We start one of our best out of the pen.
Do we not have the usual nonleague starter(s) type?
Anyone else feel weird about this pitching staff so far? 16-2/3-0... with?? Smoke and mirrors lol
Just doesn't seem quite right somehow.

I heard a guy yell, "Yeskie is the worst pitching coach in baseball!" at a Beaver game in 2014.
That may have been the best pitching staff in OSU history.
The pitching won't have to be as good this year to win games, although it will be important for the postseason. I'm cautiously optimistic.

But I think we need to take a step back and consider that "weak" for OSU is still pretty darn good pitching. Currently in the Pac-12 we are 5th in ERA at 3.44, we are 3rd in opponents BA at .221, 4th in strikeouts at 153, #1 in wins, #1 in saves... We really have been spoiled by consistently strong pitching units. and our offense it pretty solid if I do say so myself... basically #1 down the board in everything. League play has just begun of course... We always compare the now with the whole of the previous seasons. we are always going to be a little biased. But I think this is a solid squad, but I do see the concern about the post season. |
