Does anyone even know for sure if Kat will even be ready this year?

According to Rueck she is doing great with her rehab so unless something happens she should be on the court this season.

I'm wondering if it causes Rueck to change things up a bit. I'd love to see Simmons utilized like Thybulle and allowed to roam. She vastly underachieved from what I expected last year, and I really believe it had a lot to do with confidence, stemming from Rueck wanting her to completely revamp her gambling style of defense.
I'm also feel like Goodman needs to develop further, or she'll lose minutes. I really didn't like what I saw of her when she struggled with the 3-ball; I saw too much driving into double-teams leading to TO, and defensive aggression beyond her defensive quickness and getting beat.
I also want to see them run a lot more - we need to find a way to get DS in open space more (along with Pivec, Goodman, Simmons). With no shortage of bigs, and likely none of them significantly better than the others, we have a lot of fouls to give at the rim when we get beat. With this depth and position strengths, I'd like to see less emphasis on defensive shooting percentage and more on TO margin. But I really don't expect to see it - Rueck doesn't seem like he wants to mess with what has worked.

It was underwhelming to be kind. I hope and expect with a year’s experience under her belt she’ll make a more impressive showing this year.

Simmons wasn't the player I thought she would be last season either. Rueck commented that before she came to OSU she suffered from a couple of injuries that he felt effected her self confidence. One of the reasons I thought that Simmons would do so well here is that her natural style of defense was the Beav sort of high pressure no open shots style of defense. I don't see the gambling side of things you see. Maybe from the Italy trip? That was for funsies, not games.
"I'm also feel like Goodman needs to develop further, or she'll lose minutes. I really didn't like what I saw of her when she struggled with the 3-ball; I saw too much driving into double-teams leading to TO, and defensive aggression beyond her defensive quickness and getting beat."
Before Aleah came to OSU she was told she needed to work on her 3 point shots. For someone who wasn't known as a 3 point shooter in high school Aleah ended up 5th in the country in 3 pt shooting for those with over 100 shots taken in her freshman year. Playing her freshman year it was obvious she needed to learn to protect the ball from the speed of college players and she needed to raise her FT from 53%. Her ball protection was far better last year and her FT went from 53% to 93% (5th best in the country). Watching Aleah in the 3X3 tournaments it seems obvious to me that her defense has improved markedly. Aleah's only problem that I see (and it's a biggie) is that she still isn't hitting the 3 very well in games.

Simmons can blast down the court, and Destiny and Pivec can both hammer the pass when they want to. I hope the two abilities match up and get the Beav's some fast break opportunities this year too.
To improve TO margin much you need steals. Last year one top team in the top 25 was in the top 25 in steals, Kentucky. In the top 10 in Defensive shooting was Baylor, Uconn, and OSU. Which group do you think is better for the Beav's to be in? Do you want a better TO margin or do you want to win? I prefer winning.
