You miss the point - I have invested in all of the programs and support them all. I ENJOY women’s basketball , baseball and gymnastics. They can recruit and draw some of the nations best because they know what they are doing, I also support OSU Academic and Athletic scholarships... So, I am 100% behind OSU and the athletes in every program - where I am focused is in giving them the best opportunity they can have to reach all of their personal goals. I hate to see an athlete get injured, I hate to see them put on the field or on the arena floor, having not been given the best opportunity to succeed. I believe that we have a unique University, in a very desirable location, that has a lot to offer - however, any D1 school, that does not pay attention to a significant cash generator, as an opportunity, Is committing malpractice. OSU is an amateur in this space. The AD is ‘Lost in Space’. Without change - there will be no ‘change’ I have lost ALL ENTHUSIASM. Keep trying... you'll get it. Guess the football program is to blame?

Just for different reasons.

You have a very short and selective memory.
Scott Rueck went 2-16 in the Pac-10 his first year.
He was 4-14 in the Pac-10 in year 3.
He didn't win a Pac-10 tournament game until year 4.
Our WBB program had considerable growing pains in SR's early years and many of the (at that time) few fans also wondered if he was in over his head.
It's unrealistic to expect JS to immediately reverse the damage done by Anderpants.

He made improvements year over year... is that too much to ask ? You guys have such a low bar when it comes to football. Oh well, you will continue to see what you obviously are ‘enjoying’. Me, according to 11, I am just going to do whatever he creates in his little tiny mind...I owe it to him.

Hard to compare "year to year" when JS is one game into year 2. Thx for illuminating your negative bias so clearly.

You are sooo smart ... did I say anything about comparison to JS. No - I just want to see one iota of hope in this program . Simple, stop someone ( anyone ) on just a third and short play. You have a very bad habit of trying to support your position by creating fiction about another persons position. Then, if they come back and bust you - you restate what you got busted on, by saying that was not what you meant - or by taking the discussion in your direction. I was laughing two days ago on the donations post. You pretend to be all in and then say you can’t do it because you don’t trust PayPal, then you accept the fact that other pay services are owned by PayPal. I haven’t looked recently - but you seem to have opted out. Watch this space... Maybe if you skip your trailer house payment, you can kick in some small change.

Pretty sure the grumpy old man made a direct comparison between football, the athletic department, WBB, and baseball, etc. Meaning JS is indeed part of your bitch/rant. Dud (yeah, not dude)... not only do you just make s%#t up, you seemingly have no idea what you post. I was very direct and never took back a thing on what I posted concerning you. Your posts are typically random rants that wander with little substance and intelligence. See above. The "fishing" is always good with you... but, lacking much challenge, so I'll let you quote yourself.

I hold the AD and the head coach responsible. Smith, okay - they made that choice... I will cut him some slack. However, the hiring of position coaches, except for OL was a disaster. How can anyone run a program when he is surrounded by people that have ‘demonstrated’ that they don’t, can’t or won’t meet even the lowest of expectations with our dismal program. Nothing has made even a one yard gain on the road back to respectability. Smith needs to hire better people, period. The crowds are shrinking even without our abysmal performances. It’s not FUN, there is no HOPE and, worst of all - no one is focused on the real problems. Everyone is super frustrated right now Shelby. That said, our awesome, super-satisfying to follow WBB program probably wouldn't exist if the same kind of time-line/expectations had been applied to it in Rueck's second year. Take some deep breaths Shelby. Niner is a winner. He has surrounded himself with guys who are also winners. They will make us proud. Give it time.

I'm not going to open this thread again. Will just assume that nothing posted on it is remotely connected to OSU WBB, which appeared in the subject line, and then almost immediately completely ceased to be the topic.

Football is harder to turn around than basketball for sure. A couple really good players can change the course in basketball where a great quarterback and linebacker can't succeed, for example, without ten other guys doing their jobs. Lets give coach Smith the benefit of the doubt that he actually knows what he is doing pertaining to staff and personnel. If he sees changes are needed in terms of his staff,he will make changes after the season in a classy way. Thank goodness fans aren't paid to coach osu football with the knee jerk reaction to one game against a very good offense in year 15 of coach Gundy's tenure.
