These ladies, this coach, everything about this elite program at OSU can bring a smile to any fans face. While football is an overwhelming example of utter disappointment and is continuing to make blunders in every aspect of a legitimate approach to D1 football, look no further than the Lady Beavs to refresh your hunger for something at OSU that is being done right. Something to be proud of versus something to be embarrassed about. Stay healthy ladies and continue to show us how a sports program should be run.

I hold the AD and the head coach responsible. Smith, okay - they made that choice... I will cut him some slack. However, the hiring of position coaches, except for OL was a disaster. How can anyone run a program when he is surrounded by people that have ‘demonstrated’ that they don’t, can’t or won’t meet even the lowest of expectations with our dismal program. Nothing has made even a one yard gain on the road back to respectability. Smith needs to hire better people, period. The crowds are shrinking even without our abysmal performances. It’s not FUN, there is no HOPE and, worst of all - no one is focused on the real problems.

I highly doubt the WBB team would appreciate you using their achievements as a tool to attack the FB team. That would certainly bring a frown to their faces. Scott Rueck And Jonathan Smith face very different challenges in the sports they coach. They both inherited broken programs from their predecessors. Let’s keep the FB critiques on the FB board.

Pretty much anyone who cares about OSU FB is embarrassed by the results. Haven't had a winning record since 2013. We're a combined 3-23 since the 2016 season. edit -- didn't see your edit

Good for you - you are part of the problem. Accepting the unbelievable failings ( top to bottom), for this program defines the future. I see zero signs of anyone focused on turning this into a winning program... it is sad that people find it acceptable. I also highly doubt your idea that Coach Rueck would take issue with the more than obvious comparison. It’s a really well kept secret - right ? ‘ Buy low, sell lower ‘ should not be the message to our University. If you want to make money at the only sport that delivers revenue... you focus on that objective. What has been going on now, and for a long time, needs to be fixed and held to a much higher standard. If you don’t believe that - okay! However, the warts throughout OSU and all of the football stakeholders need to be pointed out. This is absolutely not fair to the players or the alumni. Enjoy the continued ride down. It’s like the Administration has given up.

Seems it could go either place ... I was complimenting the WBB program and comparing it to the football quagmire. I will also compliment our gymnastics and baseball programs.( could not find a gymnastics site to post on). Our revenue sports are being poorly managed, period. Do you have a financial advisor ? If he took your money and lost it all, would you still continue to give him your money to invest? That is what we are talking about. Just make some sound decisions, give me a reason to keep you around, show just one ounce of improvement. Oh well, a lot of people must love status quo.

I enjoy WBB at OSU regardless of the relative success of any other programs. I enjoy it entirely on its own terms. BTW this is also the gymnastics board. Gymnastics posts are on-topic here. I take it it you don’t post on the women’s sports board very often.

You're consistently making ignorant comments and your analogies are just plain rubbish. Your use of praise to then denigrate is typical of such ignorance. Just a hint the WBB and its unprecedented improvements would exist without the FB in whatever state its in. Speaking to "status quo". Your posts typically sound if the stereotypical rants of a doddering, grumpy old man who found a new release for his barbershop bench tirades. Don't mistake replies to your posts as we're actually listening.

You miss the point - I have invested in all of the programs and support them all. I ENJOY women’s basketball , baseball and gymnastics. They can recruit and draw some of the nations best because they know what they are doing, I also support OSU Academic and Athletic scholarships... So, I am 100% behind OSU and the athletes in every program - where I am focused is in giving them the best opportunity they can have to reach all of their personal goals. I hate to see an athlete get injured, I hate to see them put on the field or on the arena floor, having not been given the best opportunity to succeed. I believe that we have a unique University, in a very desirable location, that has a lot to offer - however, any D1 school, that does not pay attention to a significant cash generator, as an opportunity, Is committing malpractice. OSU is an amateur in this space. The AD is ‘Lost in Space’. Without change - there will be no ‘change’ I have lost ALL ENTHUSIASM.

I know that you believe only in what you think.. so keep talking to those creepy voices in your head. You are just afraid to speak the truth.

Lmfao... got love when people quote themselves... immediately.
Knows/expertise how unfit and inept the athletic department is... but, only toward football...
Yet the quote function is a baffling piece of technology? One advantage of the barbershop bench... no tech needed, just nonsensical opinion. Don't even really need an audience...
