Destiny is very good too, but Pivec's rebounding prowess separates her from the rest. Overall contribution, game in and game out, she's our best. My opinion. Pivec's consistency was unparalleled last season. Slocum was mercurial, she could score 30 one game and 6 the next. Consistency is huge to me, I'll take that any time I can.

Mostly all been said but-
Trish has barely played so her stats reflect that, not her playing ability.
Jas, by the end of last year all you could tell was that her 3 pt shooting a vastly improved. But all of this rebounding, fast break etc stuff? Me likee lots. Hope it continues into the season.
SR has had lots of tall peeps playing at the same time to see how it does. So far it seems to do just fine...against this competition.
KB, Taylor, and Jas are getting lots of playing time to see what they can do before the season starts. This has boosted their stats.
Been really nice that Thropay's Mom? has been able to record these games for us to enjoy/see.

SR plays ALL those who warrant it for the minutes they "earn"/deserve. And, vs this level of competition it's even more telling PM isn't playing more, and being a bit of a force. So, unless she's hurt or sick... She's a keeper, but with the level of recruits here and coming she'll not see the floor much without massive improvements.

If she doesn't play much then it's hard to get rebounds etc. Because she isn't playing much. Not sure about what the problem is with this concept. Taya is also not getting much time. You figure the Frosh are going to replace her also? If Mannen was an all-american top 20 recruit you don't think we'd be seeing more of her and less of Destiny in these games?
The team is playing about as unstructured/wide open a game as SR can stomach to see what the newb's can do. Maybe he's going to completely change his game this season, but I don't think so. This isn't season practice, this is to see who can do what.

I had really hoped that Game #3 in Italy would be a more competitive battle to see how the younger players would do when faced with some adversity. I heard that yesterday's opponent will likely be the team's biggest test in Italy. Overall, I have been very pleased with what I have seen from the team, especially considering that they haven't practiced or shot baskets outside of game days during the trip.
I sense that Jones, Simmons, and Brown have helped themselves the most during the trip in showing how they can contribute to the '19-'20 team. Brown hasn't shot well during the three games, but has shown a degree of physicality that this team needs from its bigs. Jones runs the court very well for a 6'4" frosh. I continue to read about comparisons to Baylor's Lauren Cox when Jones is mentioned. Cox was far more skilled offensively as a frosh, but Jones should help the Beavs immediately at the defensive end and may run the floor better than Cox. Simmons has shown more of a willingness to shoot the three during the trip so far. She seemed reluctant to shoot from mid-range or from beyond the arc as a freshman. Simmons has also shown the ability to go coast-to-coast and attack the paint in transition during this small sub set of games against the Italian clubs.
Goodman had a productive Game #2. Slocum shot very well during the first two games, then was off yesterday in a 2/10 performance from the field. I can see Coach Rueck using Goodman and Pivec alternatively at the point to free Slocum for uncontested threes from the wing and eventually for Tudor following her return. Corosdale has been relatively quiet with her overall play in Italy, but we know that she can be penciled in to start for the team in November.
The OSU coaches have a lot of pieces to move around and experiment with in the months to come. With the promising mobility of Jones and Brown already being observed, there may be times when the Beavs can play as many as three active 6'4"+ players on the court at the same time this coming season to provide opposing coaches with another challenge to plan and scheme for when facing OSU.
