Kennedy appears to have a lot of work to do on the offensive end...
Going to be very good though

Looked like Corosdale was up on the press? That would be an interesting wrinkle.
Video quality was poor but I thought I saw AA out there?

The 2nd half hammer pounded Ponzano....Not sure why Coach schedules such weak teams - -maybe nothing else available....
Beavers looked like they ran a 3/4 press much of the 1st half and into the 3rd....Not sure what they did defensively after that... Usually coaches don't want to press a noticeably weak team like Ponzano was today....Coach probably wanted to give his players a run and break a sweat; let them play open court and see what they look like playing fast....
I watched part of the Thropay family video on Facebook, but I really was not able to learn anything meaningful from watching it.... At any rate, the girls are closing in on the end of their great Italy adventure....I've made the Naples-Venice sojourn twice and it's a great cultural experience....
Maybe the final 2 games will tell us a bit more about the team, and importantly, about the incoming talent.... GO BEAVS !!

These trips aren't about the competition level, and per NCAA rules there are certain limitations are what "type" of teams you can schedule. It's all about team building while getting some run against other people before school starts and the lull until practice begins again. Most of the teams available to play would be beaten by summer AAU clubs, but what a great experience for the kids.

The competition makes it tough to judge how well each individual played, but you have to like Taylor Jones 16 points and 11 rebounds on 8-10 shooting. Jasmine with double digits again, 13pts, and Destiny 7-10 from 3pt range. We can't expect 70% all the time, but if Destiny improves her 3 this season, that would be huge.

Sorry, should have linked this earlier. osubeavers.com/documents/2019/8/27//Stats_Game_2.pdfSome of the stats don't add up correctly (take a look at Kennedy and Taylor's rebound totals), but it gives us a pretty good idea of how the game went. Kennedy had a terrible shooting performance, but it's good to see Taylor and Kennedy getting game action and preforming well. This is about what I expected at this point. Can't wait to see how the pieces all fit once we get to the end of fall camp.

To see 7 turnovers for Mikayla -- against this level of competition -- is just so hard to look at. She is far too good for that, but she has always struggled with unforced turnovers.
After watching a little bit of the game -- as I had hinted at earlier -- Kennedy has a long way to go offensively. 6-25 against this level of competition is also not good. She has a really good understanding of the game, but the offense and finishing is very much a work in process, more so than I thought.
It'll be interesting to see if Simmons' play can translate to the Pac-12 level, because she has clearly been dominating this level of competition with her athleticism. She thrives in transition -- very fun to watch.
If Slocum can shoot the three-ball at a higher rate than last year, we will be a much better team.
Hoping these next two teams provide us with a higher level of competition -- and I would assume they will. If Bjorklund is playing for tomorrow's team, I would assume they will.
