I wonder what the thinking is with that news organization to give hole football equal coverage to OS?
Just for perspective the Eugene Register Guard rarely does write ups on the beavs despite the fact there is a much larger Oregon State fan base in Eugene than there are duk fans in Corvallis.
It shouldn't annoy me but it does.

They have to do the newspaper thing. hole has a Heisman hopeful, a ranked team, with a big opener against Auburn. They have to cover.

The story selections and editorial decisions are made in Iowa.
And they are using a lesser-quality crossword supplier, too, while we're complaining...

The G-T and DH are now the same identical paper, except for different mastheads in each market. There are a ton of uo fans in Linn County. Hence the increase in uo coverage. There was also a reduction in the sports staff when OSU beat writer Bob Lundeberg was laid off in fall, 2018. He was not replaced.
The paper also has a content-sharing agreement with the R-G. It gets OSU stories from the G-T/DH, and the R-G shares uo stories with the DH/G-T.
The paper is designed/headlines written electronically at a regional design center in Madison, but still printed (obviously) in, and distributed from, Albany. (The regional design concept has become fairly standard in the newspaper business throughout the country.)
The entire operation is now run out of Albany. The Corvallis office on Circle Boulevard closed several months ago (they left the old G-T building on Jefferson about five years ago, that building was subsequently demolished and it is now apartments). Story selections and editorial decisions are still local. No one from Iowa has anything to do with local content/editorial decisions.
