This decision was made on a personal level. Yeskie has to sell Yeskie - he has no history or success at Arizona to sell. He has to convince a player he will have the same level of sucess at Arizona that he had at Oregon State. That all remains to be seen and is not guaranteed. This flip occured because of a personal relationship built by Nate with the Boy and the family. It calls into question, how much draft does Bailey have with the family and were they ever exposed to Canham?
How did this happen?
Personally, if I'm Canham, I continue a dialogue with Hunter Haas and his family, and with Daniel Susac and his family. Prepare the battlefield, then go to war.

Wonder how he'll feel when Yeskie leaves after next season. So screw him, is that it? You're acting like the pimply kid that got turned down for the prom. NY competed for the job, didn't get it, and went somewhere else. The Susac kid said "I'm going with you." Is it too difficult for you to say "Nate, thanks for all you did. Good luck [except against us]"? "Danny boy, I hope it works out for you [except against us]." Wow you sure are making a lot of assumptions from a single question. Simmer down fella

Results so far for OSU baseball's new management team: plus prospects leaving while nobody new is committing.
I'll always be in the stands pulling for the Beavs. Nevertheless, I'll be very surprised if we aren't heading toward years of baseball mediocrity.

We also have Cole Hamilton of LBCC coming in. He was a mid-level draft choice of Washington in 2018.

What have we seen re: Hamilton? There was some speculation he might be here this fall but I've never seen that confirmed anywhere. The transfer of JC players Jacob Melton and Reid Sebby were confirmed and announced by OSU. I haven't seen that with Hamilton. I haven't seen that in the Oregonian, Portland Trib or any of the websites either.
So, I'm curious about Mr. Hamilton.

Would love Mitch to just carry on unaffected roster wise from Case.... Yeskie. It just won’t. That does hurt. Baseball is our marquee program. Apologies to WB ( how many trophies they have ? ) Canham has to get his feet under him and run his own program. It took Pat Casey really near 10 years to get our program relevant on a national level .
Fact is, Mitch won’t be afforded that amount of time. College baseball is different now. Beaver baseball is different now. We need to be just a bit patient. Mitch isn’t PC. Let’s let it play out. I think he’ll be fine. Just needs a bit of time,

I must be seeing different results than you. And if a kid (like Susac) doesn't want to be here, I don't want him.

Susac is ranked te 45th best prospect in his class. His size (6-4, 215), power, and advanced defensive skills present a legitimate early round draft prospect. He has a + arm and his 1.82 pop time is down there in Rutschman territory.
Losing a highly ranked prospect like Abel, Susac or Haas to the draft isn't the problem. UCLA and Vanderbilt lose 5 or 6 every year. It's part of the business. I just don't want to see another PAC school (including Yeskie's) think they can sucessfully poach OSU's class.

I don't like poaching either. But again, if neither Susac or Yeskie wanted to be here and work/play under the new coaching staff, then we're better off they are no longer here.
It's funny to me how some Beaver fans (not you, Chinny) praised Mitch to the moon as a high-character guy, great leader, great mentor, great minor-league manager, etc., have serious doubts about his ability to succeed as a college coach here. From everything I hear, his attention to detail and enthusiasm are knocking the socks off people so far.

Cole Alan Hamilton is in the student directory. Unless there's another guy by the same name, that's a good sign.
