Well that one hurts for a few different reasons.

The raid begins..... Nothing worse than a spurned ex coach in the same Conference!

Wonder how he'll feel when Yeskie leaves after next season.

May never see a college campus...most elite players don't.

May never see a college campus...most elite players don't. Ok and if he does,he is maybe an Adley level game changer. If that's the case, we still cool with the beavs not hiring NY?

Yes...it's not about one recruit,it's about who you want in charge of your program. I roll with Mitch. Arizona is a hard place to pitch. Rock hard infield...spacious outfield.

My thoughts are Susac (the elder) was an OSU catcher. Canham was an OSU catcher on a frickin' Back to Back National Championship Team. He is the HC of our Beavers! A catcher prospect is going to follow a pitching coach to another school when the HC at the school he has connections to has done what the player wants to achieve?! Oh and Canham has all kinds of Pro experience/connections too.

Just creates another great opportunity for an elite athlete to join an elite program .... maybe a quirky left handed, rubber armed strikeout machine as a 'closer' ?

Not being an insider, I don't have the facts needed to determine if it was "cool" not to hire NY. Apparently the ultimate insider (PC) was "cool" with it. That's chill enough for me.

I'm cool with it too, just soliciting opinions. IF PC is really still that close to the program then maybe at some point he may return to coach the beavs again. That alone is good enough for me.

Doubt PC ever comes back. When he decides. He decides not to. If he DID come back..... I’d think elsewhere. And that would be hard to swallow. If it did happen hopefully that means Mitch has success and everything under control.
Losing a Susac hurts. Not sure he’s a gimme to not get to UA.... my guess would be he does go there. We shall see. He has a cousin Susac that is also a Beav commit........... or was.
i saw them both playing for a team in some level of all stars a bit back. A lot of PAC commits on that team... UCLA, asu, Stanford, Cal, .... and UA. Count 1 more for UA.

A Susac family primer helps clear the picture,
Andrew Susac was an OSU Beaver catcher and MLB player.
His younger brother Daniel is a Senior to be at Sacramento area Jesuit HS. Daniel is also a catcher and is currently ranked as high as #62 nationally with Prep Baseball Report. He WAS committed to Oregon State but has flipped to Arizona recently.
Their uncle, John Susac is an assistant coach at Jesuit HS. His son is Anthony Susac, a promising junior RHP to be at Jesuit HS. Obviosly, Anthony is Andrew and Daniel's cousin.
Anthony is committed to Oregon State with the class of 2021.
Daniel is a tough loss for the Beavers but affordable in the sense that we have C Ben Steck from Everett's Henry Jackson HS here with the 2019 class and Arlington, WA. C Michael Tsoukalas and Chandler-Basha, AZ HS C Tanner Smith coming in with the 2021 class. You never want to lose a player of Daniel's stature, but we do have some touted prospects to cover the position.
The real concern for Beaver fans now becomes Yeskies gambit to flip the pitcher, Anthony. Anthony and his cousin Daniel have been battery mates since childhood. Yeskie's ability to pry the catcher away from his OSU commitment may be putting pressure on the pitcher to follow suit and flip to UA.
OSU's relationship (Casey, Bailey, others) with John Susac is key - what is the family thinking?

Wonder how he'll feel when Yeskie leaves after next season. So screw him, is that it? You're acting like the pimply kid that got turned down for the prom. NY competed for the job, didn't get it, and went somewhere else. The Susac kid said "I'm going with you." Is it too difficult for you to say "Nate, thanks for all you did. Good luck [except against us]"? "Danny boy, I hope it works out for you [except against us]."
