Love Aleah's game, but Aleah sure deferred to her teammates in the game vs Canada. Uncharacteristically, missed free throws. Not sure this 3v3 did wonders for her confidence? Hopefully, when Aleah gets back to Corvallis, she will assume her leadership role. And, hopefully develops her game going to her left (vs right all the time). Loved Aleah's 1v1 defense, even against taller players. We need Aleah to play a huge role for OSU this coming season.

Canada wins 19 - 17....
It was obvious that the Canadian team was more experienced (and more efficient) at the 3x3 game.... They made instant outlets to the corner after made baskets which immediately got them into their offence..The USA girls invariably dribbled out, allowing Canada to set up their defence...Pick and roll action was executed much better, and more consistently, by the Canadian team...
Goodman was definitely "odd-girl-out" in today's game...No screens were set for her patented 3, and, interestingly, she never asked for them....It was obvious that team USA preferred to keep the ball in the hands of Onyenware and Williams, and, technically speaking, that was probably the best approach to this game....
All in all, it was fun to watch...
I would say to lotrader that 3 on 3 doesn't much influence a player's confidence in their 5 on 5 game - at least I've never seen it in the 10 years I played competitive 3 on 3 (3x3)...They are 2 entirely different games, and all good 5 on 5 players that I've worked with over the years know it... GO BEAVS !!

Goodman will certainly get her share of high screens when she plays the point for OSU this coming season and have a chance to get her three-point shot off via quick kickout passes from Slocum and Pivec in the offense. Her role on the offensive end for the USA team was to space the court to allow others the chance to beat their defenders one-on-one. She was a good soldier in that regard and gave her USA teammates more opportunities to shine. I was surprised to see her miss multiple free throws today. She was deadly from the line last season. I know that the court for the Edmonton tourney was set up in a mall, so the surroundings likely weren't ideal for shooting.

bhf - - your posts are always filled with good info..... ----- When you write: "Goodman will certainly get her share of high screens when she plays the point for OSU this coming season and have a chance to get her three-point shot off via quick kickout passes from Slocum and Pivec in the offense." I'm guessing by this you mean that the Beavs will be starting 3 guards, rather than have Goodman come off the bench... If Coach starts all 3 that narrows down the playing time for the Bigs.....Three guards plus Corosdale (and Tudor) leave only one starting position unfilled....As of now, that is looking like it will be Taylor Jones.......Leaving Kennedy Brown & Trish Morris taking most of the remaining minutes.... You also note: "I was surprised to see her miss multiple free throws today. She was deadly from the line last season." My memory might be faulty, but I remember her going to the line only once today, drawing a blank on that solo trip....Minor point, however....I'm quite used to my memory not being 100%.... GO BEAVS !! Additional info edit: Ran across the Box Score for this game....Aleah was shut out point wise; 0-1 from the line.... womensseries.fiba3x3.com/2019/edmonton/games/92236ff4-6220-455c-828c-95c2e7968f04/box-score/away-team
