Not much seems to be going on with WBB recruiting - at least nothing that the general public is aware of...
From the outside it looks like the Beavs have placed their heavy money on landing nationally ranked and highly recruited prospects Hailey Van Lith and Caitlin Clark. From what I am able to gather, it doesn't look like either of these talents has the Beavs at the top of their list. Unless Hailey or Caitlin makes an announcement saying otherwise, I'm sensing ("guessing" might be a better word) that neither of these girls will play for OSU....
If that proves to be true, it looks like Dalaylah Daniels is the last available highly ranked prospect for 2020 that the Beavs have a shot at landing....
All 3 should be naming the schools receiving their Official Visits in a month or so...If the Beavs land ONE of these 3 girls they will have a spectacular class - in my view. If they land none of them we are going to hear a lot about players that we thus far don't know much about. And we are going to hear more than a lot about the health of Mitrovic and Aquino.....If we fail to sign another top recruit for 2020 an even greater weight is placed on the shoulders of the players already on the roster....
At any rate, these are just a few of my thoughts at a time of year that generates a lot of speculation with little information to defend it... But, I'd really love to see one of these girls verbal to the program.... GO BEAVS !!

Hopefully we will hear more about those two come early August (likely nothing earlier as they are currently competing in Thailand at the U19 World Championships). Both have been pretty quiet about their recruiting processed, though we do know more about Clark than Van Lith.
I’ve never liked our chances for Clark TBH. She really seems to love UO and their players and staff, and then she also has three solid options close to home. HVL I like our chances more, but I’m not sure how appealing Scott’s system would be to her. Regardless, I really hope we land one. Daniels has also been very quiet, so I have no clue with her. She is really versatile, possibly a 3/4 player in Scott’s system, and can definitely guard the perimeter.

I have ‘learned’ to accept quiet as ‘positive’. Like the Sasha Goforth commit, that was a VERY, VERY POSITIVE ‘surprise’. Yes, there were ‘some’ insights, but nothing you could count on. I think that Van Lith would be great in Scott’s system. She would be surrounded by a real ‘team’ and her strengths seem to be on ‘finishing,. Whatever is needed, she has the skill and drive to make it happen...

Don't expect August announcements.

411500, I hope you are wrong with your " last available highly ranked prospect for 2020 that the Beavs have a shot at " comment. There are a lot of Top 100 girls still uncommitted, and the Beavs have been following a number of them for a long time. so we'll see if there is any mutual interest there.
I do agree that Van Lith and Clark are long shots. Van Lith is being heavily recruited by Louisville and Baylor, and Clark has some nice choices between Norte Dame and the home schools. Although Van Lith is an amazing player, I prefer Clark, and actually think the Beavs have a better shot at her. Daniels is a real mystery as she is just as quiet as the Beavs are, and Jordyn Jenkins seems to be a mystery as well.
I'm sure the Beavs will land at least one, and maybe two more recruits this season, and most likely they will be guards or wings. They may be players the Beavs like that are outside the top 100, and there are still some international girls they are looking at.
It will be interesting to see if/where the coaches are at this weekend.

Man, sure would be nice to be able to land some of these girls! I’m getting tired of hearing how UO is signing top player after top player. We have every bit as good of a program (you could even argue a little more achieved) but they are killing it on the recruiting.
Go Beavs!!

By "highly ranked" I meant Top 25 players.... As near as I can tell the Beavs have not aggressively recruited any U.S.A. player in the past two years who was not at least a Top 50 player.... All those on the current radar are top 25 recruits.... My view is that for the Beavs to have a really successful recruiting class for 2020 they need one more Top 25 player. DD fits that description perfectly. But, near as I can tell, we have no other shot at anyone else in that ball park....
Bottom Line: Elite programs recruit Top 25 players just about every year. Right now we have one in Sasha Goforth, even though at this point she is only a verbal. One more among DD, HVL, or CC would be spectacular. Spectacular.
If we miss on all 3, and then sign a player in the 80's, or so, I would consider that disappointing in that we are now firmly in the Elite camp, recruiting exclusively Elite players. Rueck expects to land Elite players.
Returning to the Elite Eight, or The Final Four is damn near impossible without them. GO BEAVS!!

Rueck expects to land Elite players. Returning to the Elite Eight, or The Final Four is damn near impossible without them. GO BEAVS!! You might temper your expectations some. First, these are teens... young women who are heavily influenced by outside "forces" in many cases. To me the glut of transfers on the women's side isn't quite the same as on the men's. Based on players I've known, or families I'm acquainted with, for MBB I see it more of an ego/PT thing, where for many young ladies it was more of a wrong choice of school/environment. Second, and most importantly, a recruit ranked anywhere is no sure thing, but a player in the "80's" today is much more like a top 30-40 type recruit 5,6 year ago. WBB recruiting is much more wide spread and more elite players have be "found" than ever before. Are there really that many 5* players? Who really knows as all that matters is how they fit into academics, a system, and the contribution level.
