Nice! On an unrelated note during these slow summer months - not much eventful out of Fargo this week as far as the Beavs are concerned. One tidbit - Jacob Barnes, younger brother of incoming transfer Brian Barnes doubled up as a Cadet AA in FS (5th place/Heavyweight) and National Champ in Greco. I believe he'll be a junior at McMinnville HS this year. Gabe Whisenhunt also was a cadet double AA, 2nd in FS, 5th in Greco - he's at CV and wrestles for Lara via Orange Crush.

Heard a bit on incoming recruit Ian Carlos, North Salem, from one of his HS coaches. Fragile wrist at the moment, broke it during wrestling last year, then again before FS season this spring. He is on the mend, and will more than likely RS his first season. Hope he heals and can make it through the long haul.

He probably would have RS anyways so it's not a huge deal as far as the lineup goes (not sure he can still make 65? Doyle should be locked in at 74). It's fun watching these guys I watched as little middle-schoolers turn into monsters. I think he'll be a good one.

Ian Carlos has less than a 2% chance at even being a qualifier. Odds are he never wrestles at OSU.

Why are Ian Carlos' chances so low? Grades? Injuries?

Ein Carlos is listed in student directory. True story. I didn't see: Abner Romero, Nicholas Maximov though. Also several Robert Garcias listed, hard to tell which one?

For whatever it's worth, the team roster has been loaded onto trackwrestling's Oregon State team page. Carlos, Garcia and Romero are all listed. No Maximov. I know he did win another MMA fight a few weeks ago, so maybe he's doing that full time now. A couple of other addictions were listed (walk-ons perhaps?) - Noah Miralez 141lbs? Patterson, CA - Kade Uyesaka 125 lbs 3x CIF placer - Max Gomez 195 lbs out of Chicago area, not much info.

Ok, before the season even started, JP has went from Maryland to Iowa State Training Center. I think the US Nationals tournament where he knocked off some high caliber guys (Graff, others) put his name on some radars. Wondering why the Terps job didn't pan out? intermatwrestle.com/articles/22323
