That would be a better place for an MLB stadium than the north waterfront.

Getting to that location would be a nightmare for the vast majority of Oregon residents. Any weekday game, I-5 north is a parking lot. Very little mass transit access. I live north of Vancouver and drive I-5 and 205 too often. I-5 is jammed from 2pm-8pm, sometimes earlier and later. Add game traffic to that and fuhgeddaboutit.

It would be a nice excuse to update the sorely needed and obviously under-developed infrastructure. Oops, sorry! I almost applied logic to the way Portland does business.

Saw Neil Young, Pearl Jam & Blind Melon in concert there in 1992 or 1993(?) and it's very fuzzy, but I think it WAS a very colorful place that day.

Yeah, this makes me sad.
Went to Pearl Jam there in like '95. The track was a customer of ours until now.
Sad to see the old girl go. Kills me as it is already surrounded by industrial and urban sprawl of the worst kind. Now it gets mowed down for more of the same. Sad.

Never been to Portland Meadows to see a horse race, but I did get hoarse singing along to Kansas and Styx at a fantastic show there in 1996. Styx did the entire "Paradise Theater" album live, and did an amazing job. Paradise Theater was one of my favorite albums in high school. Yikes! Where have the years gone?
As Billy Joel would say, and I sure hope true, "the good old days weren't always good, and tomorrow's not as bad as it seems....."
Go Beavers!

“Welcome to “Transient Park”! Parking north and east of the stadium is reserved for derelict motor homes only.” My daughter has played in a summer lacrosse tournament at Delta Park the last 3 summers. The homeless population surrounding the park is out of hand. Crazy what has happened to Portland.

Where do you live that doesn't have any homeless presence? Just curious. No presence in my town. No, I’m not divulging it. But Delta Park is a disaster. Never leave anything in you car in sight, or you’re asking for it.
