beaverfever - thanks for posting the print article and, as well, the podcast....
I'm one of those sports fans who is not good at tracking down podcasts, so thanks for bringing this one to the board....
For those who don't want to spend 34 minutes, the interview with Coach R doesn't really provide any NEW information for most of us here at Benny's House. However, it is great to listen to him discuss his philosophy of the game, his approach to educating his players and bringing out the best in them. This podcast seems almost closer to a life seminar than a basketball interview.
Eggers does a great job of staying in the background...He offers Coach brief questions then gets out of the way. I wish more interviewers did the same.... At the end of the podcast Coach says he is very impressed with the quality of the 3 players coming in this year - but, from him, it's hard to expect otherwise.. He loves his players and he unfailingly speaks highly of them.
If you do spend the 34 minutes listening to this podcast you will come away with the realization that OSU has one of the great gentlemen in college sports running the Women's Basketball Program...
He's honest. He's fair. He honours the game and its players. And, he's one helluva good coach.... GO BEAVS !!

On the NC, Tenn and Cal sites Scott was the main coach that the fans wanted their teams to steal from Oregon St. Right like that was going to happen. When you consider the circumstances, I don't believe any coach as ever turned around a program so quickly and successfully.
