Good timing for LG, I think. Cal is on a downward slide, and with Anigwe gone it's only going to get worse. They have a couple decent recruits coming in but no one special. And nothing for 2020 yet. Let someone else take the blame for the slide.

Beat me to the punch bennyskid. It is very good timing for her. It will be interesting to see who ends up replacing her at Cal. Recent hires in the Pac have been pretty good hires as this league continues to get stronger.

Boy, this caught me totally by surprise....Gottlieb to the NBA?
In the years I've been following Pac-12 WBB I've seen nothing, i.e. Nothing, that would make me think Gottleib is an exceptional coach.... I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who can make sense out of this hire... She might have exceptional coaching skills - but they sure are well camouflaged. At least I've never seen them....
Anyone want to help me out here? What does she bring to the table that would make the Cavaliers think she is a worthwhile hire, someone who could actually improve Cavalier team performance?? GO BEAVS !!

I can't help you make sense out of this 411500, because I'm not sure this makes much sense. Not only has she not proven to be a top notch college coach, she hasn't even shown herself to be one of the better coaches in the pac-12. At least she does have a winning record.....

I wonder if they'll go after Mark Campbell?

Supposedly Campbell wants to be a head coach. Yet for all of his recruiting prowess - and he's good, no question - I can't ever remember him even being mentioned for any job.

GO BEAVS !! Here is my guess....Being a head college coach and an NBA assistant seem like very different jobs. NBA assistants do not need much in the way of leadership skills. Each NBA team has 3 assistant coaches, not sure how important the responsibilities are of the junior assistant. Most likely they are responsible for scouting future opponents and player development. I think allot of people in the coaching ranks have the potential to be successful NBA assistants, especially if they are put in a position to learn on the job. By hiring a woman you make points with the NBA front office and the social justice crowd. A bottom feeder like Cleveland can use all the positive pub they can get.

Heard Campbell is paid well at this point to be the next heir apparent for Graves. Something set up by a booster but it is not discussed.
Cal bear fans mention the current Gonzaga coach which would be intriguing but not good for northwest recruiting for others.

I wonder if they'll go after Mark Campbell? Does he rock a pant-suit to your knowledge? All I know about Campbell is what I see on TV. So no. Is that a prerequisite for the Cal HC job?

That's as much as I know about him.
