Did Scott have anything else interesting to say relating to next year? He stated that the entire team, including Mikayla & incoming recruits, will be on the Italy trip. I asked him, in the public forum, if Andrea Acquino would be playing next season for OSU. His answer was "it is out of my hands". No idea why, or, what exactly that means, but Scott did not say "yes". Scott is very high on AA, and says she is a terrific teammate and person, in addition to having great talent. Hmm... sounds like it is in the hands of the NCAA to me, given that she is trying out for the Paraguay national team. Thanks for the information!

Or it might depend on what the level of her commitment to the Paraguay National team would entail should she make the team. That would certainly be out of his hands.

Seems like he wouldn’t be shy about explaining the reason if that was it. It’s health problems he can’t talk about. Besides, doesn’t her scholarship require that she play if able? If the Paraguay national team were that much of a commitment, she would probably have to drop out of school. Makes no sense.

I seems like we might get our first indicators when AA goes to Italy with the team..... Although things might not be rendered more clear by that either.... If she doesn't play in Italy the question becomes "Will she play when the season begins?" If she does play in Italy the question becomes "Will she continue to play when the season begins?"
I'm beginning to find myself in agreement with someone here on the board who earlier wrote that Jelena Mitrovic was signed as a replacement for AA..
And that creates a new set of questions about Mitrovic' apparent injury which probably won't get answered until Italy.....
Lotsa drama, or at least suspense, in the off-season... GO BEAVS !!

Was interesting when she didn't travel to Vancouver last year, so it will be interesting to see if she travels to Italy.

It's more than health issue... and I hear there is a 50/50 chance she doesn't return to the US after her stint in Paraguay.

How the players on the national team are funded when they are not playing might hinder her eligibility. She also might feel pressure to go pro to help her family financially. Unlike in the USA, lot of foreign players go pro early. Of course all of that is pure speculation.

I think she is home in Paraguay right now, so I guess we'll know shortly. I really hope we get to see her play soon.
