OSU WBB Twitter site is providing 3x3 updates....

4-0 is great for a put together team of girls who don't normally play together, I'm not sure how much they even knew about each other. It doesn't surprise me that Aleah is part of it.

"I" flopped her way to yet another foul and hits the winning free throw for a 21-20 win over Slocum's Drive team. What a joke. The refs allow tons of hacking, pushing, chopping, etc. but when the game in on the line with seconds left (and the first team to reach 21 points wins regardless of clock time left) they call a foul on the gal defending "I". *ucks win the championship as a result. SMH "I" must have taken 75% of the shots for Oregon.

I’m shocked Oregon even got to the finals with the team they sent. 3x3 values a three point shot far more than regular basketball, and other than Ionescu, nobody on that team had even attempted a three point shot all season.

Ionescu scored 17 of teams 21 points in final game....Assisted on the other 4.... Playing outdoors neutralizes impact of 2 point shot...especially when it's breezy It is much easier to get to the rim in 3x3 than 5x5.....
But, I agree with blackbuttebeaver80, I did not think the team Oregon sent could win it all.... Very nice to see Aleah and Destiny make it as far as they did.

Scott Rueck mentioned this at the Portland Stop of the "Beaver Roadshow" last week. He didn't provide any details, but it is awesome for OSU WBB that Aleah made such a great showing in the 3v3 tournament that she was selected to represent the US in the international tournament. Can only help develop Aleah in her 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 game.

He stated that the entire team, including Mikayla & incoming recruits, will be on the Italy trip. I asked him, in the public forum, if Andrea Acquino would be playing next season for OSU. His answer was "it is out of my hands". No idea why, or, what exactly that means, but Scott did not say "yes". Scott is very high on AA, and says she is a terrific teammate and person, in addition to having great talent.
