Personally, I hope someday the world of sports crashes hard from the ridiculous amount of money that is spent on it.

I love this quote from Dabo on his new contract. Apparently him making $9.3 million per year will make him better at molding student-athletes into successful adults. "With this contract, we make a collective statement that we intend to continue pursuing championships and developing total student-athletes for years to come. " Hey Dabo... some men and women have been doing that for years... without having headlines, elite athletes, great facilities, etc for $40-60k/year. Effing jackwagon🤮

Oh, Swinney! Just another in a long list of reasons for me to dislike college football more. Ridiculous. Meanwhile, next year they'll say they have to increase tuition or lay off professors/cut programs.

Meanwhile, next year they'll say they have to increase tuition or lay off professors/cut programs. This...I feel like college athletics are getting to the point, money-wise, where they can threaten the academic mission of the university. Keeping up with the Joneses via facilities improvements and, to a lesser extent, coaches' salaries, are pushing a lot of college programs into the red, sometimes heavily (I think Cal and WSU in our conference are in particular financial straits). At one point will the universities just say enough is enough and start backing down?
