I'll be the voice of disagreement. Maybe it is because I don't watch a ton of golf (but I do watch some of every major and a little of others), but I have no problem with the announcers talking about the majesty of Augusta. The place looks like something out of a fantasy novel, more so than any other course I can remember seeing. And it hits just right at Spring, with flowers blooming and hearing the birds chirp...I think it's a great course to watch and the commentary matches it. As far as "tradition" goes, I could care less about trying to rank any one major over the other two (the PGA doesn't qualify as a major, in my mind). They all drip with tradition and nostalgia. I like the fact that The Masters is played at the same course every year; I like the fact that the other two aren't. The Open almost feels like it may as well be at the same course every year, because there are so few they play it on. It's a great year when it returns to St. Andrews. Anyhow...loving The Masters right now. Don't care who wins! I have loved the masters, ever since Jack in 86. I’m fine with anyone winning except for Poulter. I don’t know what it is about that guy, but I think he’s a major a-hole.

There are a few players that...to put it politely, in golf terms...I root for less than others but that's another thing I like about golf … the crowd gets amped and cheers no matter who is playing well; they just like to see good golf. The only tournament that I can remember rooting for one specific guy was X number of years back when Tom Watson came oh so close to winning his sixth Open Championship. But when his approach shot skidded over the green on the last hole in regulation...I knew he was toast, even if it was going to a playoff. Most other times I don't care, but I do find my self rooting for the older guys who don't have a major under their belt.

My favorite golfer and he was a great guy to meet. That was painful to watch him so close to history and to not quite win

The YOUDAMAN shltbergs that just want to hear their voice on national TV. Although I did give props to the halfway clever shltberg in the crowd next to me at Chambers Bay who let out with a NO DUST ON THAT JOHNSON after a dustin Johnson skyrocket drive.

You won’t hear fans yelling that crap at the masters. They kick you out for doing that.

Some would say that The Masters approaches religion in the world of golf. It would probably be considered interdenominational. However, The Open at St. Andrews would be High Mass, and the Waste Management in Phoenix would be Pentecostal.

Be ready to get up really early to watch the Masters tomorrow. Due to severe weather forecast for the afternoon tee times I believe are starting at about 6:30 a.m. our time

Augusta is very picturesque and in golf circles deserve it's reverence. But it's just golf. Big picture it's a blip on the radar of living on planet Earth Tiger...anybody? Tiger? These are sports boards. Everything we talk about is a blip on the radar of living on planet Earth. I'd also be cool with Tiger winning.

I have to say I was in the camp that he was finished. Glad to admit I was wrong. An event that will go down in history. Very exciting.
In America anyway, we love to build our sports heroes up, tear them down, and then in some rare cases, watch them rise up again. This, was one of those times.

Sure, with plenty of help. Not like he killed somebody, or blatantly cheated.
