A top 10 finish in the Coaches Poll and Massey ranking is not bad, especially when one considers the late struggles OSU had.

And, as Rueck has pointed out several times this season, OSU was breaking in a new starting point guard and a new starting center, certainly major pieces to a puzzle.

Rueck has really built quite a program. From one player to a consistent top 10 program in less than a decade.

UCLA really worked their way up the polls after a sluggish start.
Great news here for the Beavs.....top 10 again for the 5th straight year. I think there are only 4 teams who are in that club....Baylor, UConn, Notre Dame, and Oregon State. Correct me if I am wrong, but that is nice company.

Top 10 in the coaches poll is really good. Given the circumstances I don't think we could expect better.
And to think we had so called fans say, over and over and over, that we were way overrated all season. That we couldn't win because of any number of reasons ranging from loss of Kat to not having a dominate post. The coaching staff did an amazing job of overcoming adversity, they are that good.
Five years of ending up in the top ten is truly an amazing feat. I personally think that this shows that OSU is now a national power and not just a team driven by a great player or two.
Next year will be even better.
GO BEAVS!!!!

Yes, looks like you are correct...very good company indeed! Wikipedia shows the final coaches poll in April of each season. Beavers finished 10th, 2nd, 9th, 8th, and 10th (2019) over the last 5 years. The AP does not take a poll after the NCAA championship tournament.

Kat, will be a HUGE plus for OSU next year, because her 6' height is such a great help on the perimeter defense. Of course, we absolutely missed her instant offense as well.

Janessa was also a significant loss. Her broken finger, must have been more significant than just the run of the mill break, effectively took her out for the season. She provided a very physical presence in the key. As CR described her, "she would rather go through an opponent than around". Like Maddie she had no problem going for every loose ball, hitting the hardwood often. It was during one of these scrums that she injured.
Hopefully she will be fully recovered next season and ready to play. I think she could provide some important minutes to us.

I came across this article about the impact of the loss of Lauren Cox to Baylor, both in the NC game but also taking a broader look at the draft, next season's pre-season rankings (spoiler alert - SI and uo mentioned), etc. and kept thinking about how amazing our finish was upon losing Kat and JT for essentially the entire conference season. Go Beavers!

Well, it looks like both mancarl and I are INCORRECT afterall. I trusted Wikipedia (and mancarl may have too), but Oregon State did NOT FINISH 10TH IN 2015 FINAL COACHES POLL AS THEY SHOW. Instead, the team actually finished 13th that year. One can find Wikipedia's error in the lower table for the 2014-2015 Coaches Poll, farthest column on the right. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014%E2%80%9315_NCAA_Division_I_women%27s_basketball_rankingsDumb of me to trust WIKI and dumb of me not to check their info against a couple other sources. However, OSU did finish in the top 10 for the last FOUR years along with UCONN, Notre Dame, and Baylor.

Thanks for the clarification newduke. I had some numbers but didn't get to double check them. I usually hate not double checking info.....and this is why. If you throw in teams that make the top 13 each of those years, South Carolina makes it as well.
Other traditional (or new) so called powers that do not make that list....Tennessee, Stanford, Louisville, Mississippi St, to name a few.
Next up for the Beavs......national championship!
