Katie played with her. Nick, Katie’s Dad, coached her and Scott recruited her and knows all about her. If Scott thinks she’s a fit in his program and Evina wants to be a Beaver, I’d certainly welcome her transfer. All other things being equal, I like having talented Oregon/NW girls playing for OSU WBB.

We were in her final three (or four) the first time around. I was really hopeful until her announcement. She showed a 45 minute video of her high school highlights before she made her choice known. This was done after the signing period started to make sure all eyes in the country were on her.
Personally, I think we signed the best point guard in the state that year. Their head to head match up as seniors backs up my opinion.
If she wants to come to OSU and CR feels she could be a team first player then bring her on.

Why does anyone post things like "I don't"? Any parent or potential recruit - not just Evina, but *any* recruit or parent - that read that is going to come away with a pretty crappy impression of OSU fans. If you have any regard at all for the program, show some goddammed restraint.

What I've heard from peeps who know Evina is that she's a nice person and a great player. But I don't think we need to look for a transfer to OSU. I'm sure various cracks at her and her family have put that out of reach.

Being from Salem I know a bunch of people from South, including nieces who went to school with both KtMac and Westbrook and they only had good things to say about them both. It sounds like Evina has been in a difficult situation in TN and I sure would want to know all the facts about what all happened there before I made any judgment about anything she's done. Even then, I would be inclined to give a local kid the benefit of the doubt if she wanted to come to OSU. If Rueck thinks there's a place on the team for her, and she wants to come home I would welcome her with open arms.

Lol... if *any* parent is reading message boards thinking posts represent the fan base as a whole probably isn't making great decisions period. *Any* poster who thinks random, and a minuscule amount of posts, effect recruiting to *any* significant degree is probably in need of similar restraint. She'll go to the school where she feels most comfy, just like she did before. If posts truly help determine her choice, she's not really the player a program wants. D1 athletes are a bit more thick skinned than that. They deal with much more than message boards. Parents? Who cares! It's all about what's good for the players. Time for some to let go a bit.

I'm sure various cracks at her and her family have put that out of reach. An experienced, proven transfer would be very helpful. As of now, in 2020-21 we have 3 guards - Aleah Goodman, Jasmine Simmons, and Destiny Slocum - if she decides to stay. Sounds like one of Evina’s skill set/caliber would be very helpful. Perhaps @beaverhoopsfan may have more insight on OSU as a possible destination, but I would welcome Evina with open arms! A lot of people think she would be a better fit at UO though. I hope she remembers why she didn’t consider them the first time.

I don’t want any athlete that picks their school based on message board posts. If that really happened, no player would ever attend LSU. Go read Tigerbait.

I want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding: you are stating that you encourage negative posts about potential recruits because you feel it improves the quality of recruits we can sign.
Did I read that right?

"Lol... if *any* parent is reading message boards thinking posts represent the fan base as a whole probably isn't making great decisions period. " You're right, it's their fault if they take to heart what nastiness you throw at them. Silly them.
"*Any* poster who thinks random, and a minuscule amount of posts, effect recruiting to *any* significant degree is probably in need of similar restraint." Odd, because the Tennessee board seems convinced that cracks at her mother and herself is a major reason she posted for the transfer list.
" If posts truly help determine her choice, she's not really the player a program wants." Ohhh, so it's her own fault if she's bothered by the garbage the "fans" dump on her and her family?
Just a thought, why not just dump on the football team and leave Women's basketball alone? As Rueck has mentioned of several occassions, building up the Women's self confidence etc is a major part of his job. Do you really need to keep fighting him so hard?

As Rueck has mentioned of several occassions, building up the Women's self confidence etc is a major part of his job. Do you really need to keep fighting him so hard? Again... LOL... LOL... LOL So, first do you reread your own posts and see the contradictory nonsense written? So... Vol posters are convinced that negative posts are the reason she's leaving. Not the actual comments from the player herself about the program and staff?? So... what you're saying is believe the posters about other posters and not the player herself? Silly them! 😉 And, it's what? Ok to toss negatives at the football team? Cuz, what they're men? Leave the WBB alone... cuz what they're women or they never do wrong? PS- EW is not part of our WBB program. And, if she was my previous post holds. If you're a D1 recruit depending on a message board to help make your decision... yeah, well you have other more important issues. PPS- if you a recruit or player who reads message boards... why? PPSS (is that a thing?)- if you're a player's parent reading message boards... why? If you then share negatives you read with your kid... grow the hell up!

With the huge cesspool of nastiness spewed at the football team I figure you can get your kicks and it won't even be noticed.
And again, you justify your attacks by, it's their fault, they shouldn't be reading my attacks. And if they do, well shoot, they better toughen up.
Why not, just don't do it?
