Wow! Talk about some bad basketball, that was it. Just a few takeaways:
Rickea Jackson really impressed me. Great get for Mississippi State.
Angel Jackson, the big 6' 5" Post going to USC is going to cause Pac-12 teams some headaches these next few years.
Kennedy Brown looks like she'll fit in well at Oregon State. There isn't much to tell from this game, but she played unselfishly, contested shots, and seemed to play a team game, in a game that was more of a one on one contest. Knowing Kennedy doesn't want to be a traditional post, she looks to have an offensive game similar to Taya. It will be interesting to see her game develop at Oregon State. I would like to see her become a Megan Huff type player, but I'm not sure if she will end up being a 3-4 type player, or a 4-5. A lot will probably depend on her game speed. The good news is, the coaches will know how to best use her.

I just think at 6’6”, back to the back still needs to be an important component of your game, especially when you have a player like Jelena Mitrovic at 6’9” who is fully capable of going to the high post and making an interior feed. Kennedy at the 4 can create a lot of mismatches because of her versatile skillset. She was used at the 4 a good bit.
Totally agree about Rickea Jackson. I think we recruited her a little. I think she is underranked at #9, I think she played better than Haley Jones, butnI thought Tennessee’s Jordan Horston may have been the best.
Around the Pac-12, UCLA’s guards weren’t super impressive. Prototyical UCLA guards for the most part. Stanford’s trio was quite underwhelming. Haley Jones didn’t look like a #1. Ashten Prechtel was decent. Fran Belibi was pretty good though. Angel Jackson is quite big for USC, but I think we will have a frontline that will matchup nice. Big body girl.

Her minutes were higher than I expected, which is a good sign. This game was a lot more for those who can create their shot. I think Kennedy is the type of player who will do well in Rueck’s system, and that obviously isn’t a skill showcased tonight. Seems she might prefer the 3 ball, but I would like her to be an equal inside outside threat if need be. Obviously minutes will be easier to come by at the 5 than the 4 next season. 181 shot attempts, that's one every 13 sec.

I think Brown was the only pass-first player there. Didn't look for her shot much at all. Others let it fly every time. She did attempt to guard a guard at the beginning of the second half... didn't go so well.
