With the 6 conference teams all off to very strong starts, the conference will be 8-0 in this year's tournament just as soon as the horn blows in Eugene. Let's see how this year will wind up matched against the last 3: 2016 - 5 teams in the tournament, and all won their first round game. 4 to the sweet sixteen, 3 to the elite eight, and 2 to the final four. Overall record in the tournament, 14 -5. All 5 teams ( OSU, Washington, Stanford, UCLA, and Arizona State) finished in the top 16 in the Coaches Poll. 2017 - 7 teams in the tournament and all won their first round game. 5 to the sweet sixteen,, 2 to the elite 8, and 1 to the final four. Overall record in the tournament, 14 -7. 5 teams (Stanford, OSU, Washington, UCLA, and Oregon) finished in the top 16 in the Coaches Poll. 2018 - 6 teams in the tournament, and 5 won their first round game (Cal lost). 4 to the sweet sixteen, 3 to the elite 8. Overall tournament record, 12 - 6. 4 teams (Oregon, UCLA, OSU, and Stanford) finished in the top 13 in the Coaches Poll. 2019 - 6 teams in the tournament, and all 6 won their first round game. After that, Including this year, the conference over that stretch is 23 - 1 in first round games! That's phenomenal! Also, in the last 3 years, 12 of 48 slots (25%) in the sweet sixteen have been filled by conference teams, and 8 of 24 slots (33.3%) of elite eight slots have. This is one tough conference!

PAC 12 teams should start playing for titles soon enough based on that data. Good info bvrbooster.

Two advanced to the Sweet 16 tonight in Arizona State and Oregon. Will be fun to watch ASU and Mississippi State. Their 6’7” big is TOUGH. Very impressive, at least tonight. Not sure CTT has anyone to stop her, but they did hang with Baylor, so I wouldn’t rule it out. UO gets Syracuse, who they nearly beat earlier this season.

So teams already in the Sweet 16 on OSU's schedule:
- Texas A&M: Loss (didn't look like a sweet 16 team then) - South Carolina: Win (no surprise they made it back, even though not as strong as they have been) - oregon: Loss, Win - Arizona State: 2 Losses (Good to see them proving tough for everybody - Miami was a team that had fairly recently beaten UL, FSU, 'cuse and ND)
Record vs. so far vs. Sweet 16 teams: 2-4
4 more teams they've played have a shot to advance on Monday as well.

I was wrong when I wrote that 12 conference teams had advanced to the sweet sixteen over the last 3 years. The correct number is 13. Add this year's 5, and that's 18 of 64 slots filled by PAC 12 teams over the last 4 years.
So the conference, as previously stated, was 23 - 1 in first round games over 4 years. Second round games? 18 - 5. An 87.2% winning percentage in first and second round games over 4 years.
That's just ridiculously good!

Playing these teams week in and week out gets then ready for ncaa tournament. Look at us, conference play has given us the confidence and ability to win close games.

Also, another of way of looking at it, from the Game Notes: The Beavers are one of nine teams in the nation to make the Sweet 16 in each of the last three seasons, joining UConn, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Baylor, Stanford, Texas, UCLA and Mississippi State. Texas had its streak broken this year, so in the past 4 seasons, of the 8 teams making it every year to the Sweet 16, 3 are Pac-12 teams...... Go Beavers!

The Jacks are tough, they crushed uo in the WNIT in Brookings several years ago and hung with them this year before losing.
