The Salt Lake Stallions at San Antonio Commanders matched up two of our former coaches. With both being known for offense, the game was mostly defensive. That was not the only reversal of form. MR used to have pro-style pocket passers who could not run well at OSU. After his starting QB was injured, in came a backup with the scrambling fast feet. He used them to get a 2XP pass play followed by clinching the game on a read-option play. Oh the irony...LOL!
As the Alliance season has moved along, the quality of play has improved for the better teams. Riley's Commanders are now 5-2 in the West with two of the next three games being at home, so pencil them in for the postseason. DE's Stallions have struggled but they did hand Orlando its only loss of the season. At least Salt Lake is competitive.
