Looks like an 11 point spread is predicted; seems about right. warrennolan.com/basketballw/2019/predict-games?type1=Saturday,%20March%2023&type2=Top%2025&date=2019-03-23 While it's tempting to weigh their upper-classmen only starters as moving to the under, I'm going to weigh more heavily that they haven't played anywhere close to an environment like Gill. I also don't like that they don't shoot the 3 well already, and OSU makes team shoot poorly in general. They also turn the ball over at the same rate as OSU (way too high 14pg) against a much weaker schedule. Predict OSU by 17. OSU: 73 - BSU - 56

I like that one of their bigs is 0-0 from 3 on the year. We don’t match up well against teams that have a stretch-5. I hope we see an angry, but in control Destiny. I don’t think they will have a matchup for her or Mik. I really hope we see Aleah, Katie, and Taya knocking down from deep.

They also turn the ball over at the same rate as OSU (way too high 14pg) against a much weaker schedule. Predict OSU by 17. OSU: 73 - BSU - 56 I like the prediction noted above. However, when I read beaverstever's analysis above about the turnovers, I quickly thought that 14 turnovers per game was significantly higher than what OSU actually averaged this year. The link accessible below confirms that Oregon State is 16th best (out of 349 D1 women's basketball teams) in the country in not turning over the basketball during the '18-'19 season with an average of 12.5 per game. Oregon ranks #1 in D1 at 10.0 turnovers per game and UConn is #9 at 11.7 per game. Compared to other D1 teams, the Beavers actually take care of the basketball relatively well. The Beavs have committed an average of nearly two turnovers per game less (12.5 vs. 14.4) than what Boise State has averaged this season. As beaverstever writes above, Boise State turns the ball over at a rate of 14.4 per game, good for 93rd best in the country. However, the Broncos do have a clever and skilled 5'8" point guard in Jayde Christopher who has very good handles. Christopher averages 5.5 assists per game but is not a consistent shooter. The team's leading scorer, 5"8" shooting guard Braydey Hodgins, can also put the ball down effectively on the floor and is a quality outside shooter. www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-women/d1/current/team/289

I think having Jo's increase in minutes during the last 5 games has thrown off the balance of the defense a bit, but now that they have had some time off and some practice SR's gamble of having her play so many minutes will pay off.
There was some fire in Taya's eyes at the presser after the Washington game. I think she's ready to do some butt kickin.
I hope Aleah learned her lesson on finding someone else to take the shots if hers are not dropping.
It's down to crunch time and Katie needs to lead the team.
I foresee some struggles against BSU, but nothing serious. Gonzaga is too beat up to do much. Louisville will be the challenge, but I think the Beav's are up to it. Conn. is where the we will see how the team has really jelled this season, or not.
