Donates $75 million to Providence Hospital for their heart transplant program. Forget all the hole and Nike stuff, way to go Phil. Nice to see the mega-wealthy give back to the society that made their success possible. Phil’s net wealth is estimated at $34.5 Billion. A $75 million donation works out to be .002 percent of his personal wealth. For an ordinary person with a personal net worth of say $650,000 .002% works out to $1,300. So while we’re praising Knight let’s also thank all those folks of ordinary means who give their hundreds or thousands instead of millions.

For gawd sake grow up! PS- you know his "net worth" is no where close to his personal assets that are easily available for such a transaction? And... also kudos to ANYONE else who donates .002% to good causes. Wish more people need. And, you'd limit your posts to that same .002

Ok, you were not a math major I guess. $75 mill is about .2% of 34.5 billion, not .002%. It's a great donation to a much needed cause.

It’s still $1300 for a person with $650,000 net worth. They are both great donations. Which was also my original point.

Phillip has donated other monies to Providence. When Mom was in St V's for triple bypass it was the Knight Heart Center she was in. That was about 7-8 years ago. This donation looks to me to restart the heart transplant program that was previously at OHSU

This donation looks to me to restart the heart transplant program that was previously at OHSU My Father-in-Law received a heart transplant from OHSU going on about 10 years ago now. He still goes back there for all of his check-ups, but was disappointed when they shut it down. He is one of their star patients, as his transplant has been working better than could be expected for all this time. It probably helps that his heart failure was due to a virus rather than an "unhealthy" lifestyle.

Just as a comparative aside, no criticism intended-
Bill Gates has already given away about 5 billion of his 90 billions and intends to give about 89 billion of it away eventually.
Bill Gates is the G.O.A.T of giving and no one else is even johnny manziel, relatively, if you believe Tom Brady is G.O.A.T., and you need to believe that because he is.
