If this bracket holds, I like the Beavers chances.

We should be the last 2-seed. The NCAA's obsession with the RPI is so ridiculous. Iowa is #9 in the RPI, we're #20. But look at who they've beaten and lost to. (The parenthetical is the Massey rating)
Best Wins: Maryland (9), Rutgers (26), @drake (23), IowaSt (13) Losses: @ui (51), @mich (38), @purdue (60), @michst (45), @nd (3), FlaSt()
Compared with ours: Best Wins: SoCar (12), @ucla (22), UCLA (22), UO (5) Losses: @asu (17), ASU (17), @uo (5), @furd (7), TA&M (20), ND (3)
Plus, our conference schedule was way stronger - the Pac is stronger than the Big across the board, and by a good margin.
But . . . since our pre-season patsies were weaker than their pre-season patsies, Iowa's RPI is way, way better than ours. What a joke.

We are rebuilding. With Marie's graduation, we had to adapt. It's what impresses me more than other teams. WE plug and play. When Ionescu moves along. UO will become average to above average. She has become so much of their success. She has a bad night, they lose. With OSU, we don't have one player accounting for one-third of our points. When Destiny's off, Aleah takes over. If Mikayla is sluggish, Taya ups her game. Ours is a recipe for long term success. Year after year we'll end up in the sweet 16 at least.

Assuming we win Friday night, I would think the 3 seed is the worst we do.We could improve upon that with a win on Saturday, and who knows what happens if we win on Sunday.
A 3 seed opens play against a 14 seed in the 3 seed's gym, so that should be a win. Then we play either the 6 or the 11. Don't want to take that for granted, After all, we were a 6 last year when we beat 3 seed Tennessee at their gym, where they had achieved some previous measure of success.
But I like our chances to get to the Sweet Sixteen again, and we'll see how we match up against the 2 seed there.
Fun time of year!

Iowa has no business being ahead of OSU in any seeding or ranking. As I mentioned in another thread... Four of Iowa's 6 losses are against currently unranked teams, while all 6 of OSU's losses are to currently RANKED teams. Iowa's best win is against Maryland while OSU's is against Oregon.

Big fall for Marquette. I thought they were a lock, but they lost 3 of their last 6, all to non-tourney teams. Gonzaga also has a good RPI (#13), a great win (Stanford), a neutral site win over Rutgers (RPI #25, Massey #26), a loss to ND, and two losses to BYU by a combined 4 points. Syracuse's and Miami's losses are worse and their wins aren't better. Zag fans have reason to grumble.

I've been following the Zags kinda close this year... Been to a few of their games, and I watched all 3 in Vancouver in November...They are a deceptively strong team. Well coached and play tough, tight defense...I hope they don't show up in Corvallis in the 1st round.... They don't have any real star power, but they have 4 or 5 kids who are better than good, but not super - if you catch my drift... GO BEAVS !!.
