Seems like the last few games, Destiny has been very, very quiet in terms of points, assists, etc.
I watch all the TV games but do not keep up with things as well as many of the excellent posters on this site do.
What is going on with her-is it injury/illness/or ?
Also it would appear that the Beavers are going to be fortunate to win many NCAA tournament games this year. Is that a correct assumption?
Thanks for the feedback.

I am a long way from an expert but in terms of the NCAA and PAC12 tournaments, I think your concerns are legitimate. Aleah is the only consistent 3 point threat at the moment, allowing the defense the option of sagging and clogging up the middle a little more. It seems like our inside game is no longer the biggest problem although we do not match up well with quickness under the basket. I am not sure about Destiny but she has had a couple last minute game saving performances the last few weeks. My unreliable instinct (in lieu of expertise) tells me that she will be a big factor in the tournaments.

NO player is on all the time. Every player is streaky to some degree. No one is as good as their best game or as bad as their worst. We haven't seen enough of Destiny to get a really good measure of her median production. A lot in Destiny's case also depends on match ups.

Plus I think everyone is getting tired. The Pac-12 might be beating each other up. A lot of good players in the league have been quiet it seems like. However that Anigwe from Cal, 30 pts and 30 rebounds?? wow

Anigwe with 22.9 ppg and 15.9 rpg (stats which may not include the today's game) should be POY, instead of SI (though they tend to reward a player on a good team).

Anigwe has always put up numbers, but her team suffers as a consequence. Gottleib tends to have the team cater to her. The whole team is geared to getting her the ball on the block and that is the reason the rest of the teams numbers and shooting percentage is not that great. What I always say about having a balanced offense applies specifically to Cal. Cal has underachieved via their talent level as long as Anigwe has been on the team. She does not make the rest of her team better. One has to say that as far as producing even when other teams know she will be getting the ball she has certainly produced.

You could be right about Cal's game approach. But 16 rebounds a game is huge and not part of running an offense. Still, Anigwe and and SI have about the same FG attempts for the season (475 vs 460). SI is a guard and Anigwe is a post so their roles are different.

SI is a guard and Anigwe is a post so their roles are different. As I alluded in my last sentence on my post- Aniqwe is a heck of a player. She is very good- no one disputes that. And the offense has been refined so that there is more balance this season than the previous ones. Still Anigwe will mostly take shots even when she is double and triple teamed rather than pass out to an open player. She is a stat stuffing type of player. Do not know so much about this season but in past seasons players were always instructed to pass the ball in to her even if they had open looks. The shots from the outside were usually desperation clock running down shots and we know that those are usually lower percentage. My post is not to criticize her abilities nor to diminish the contribution she makes to her team. Still one has to consider the record of the team in context with the contribution to the team her stats actually make. As has been pointed out by others MVP's usually come from more successful teams unless no other players come close. Individual stats should not come at the overall success of the team as a whole.
