How about adding "most improved player" ....and the award goes to Joanna Grymek, Oregon State.

I think Pivek should be in the Pac-12 player of the year talk. No one has a better all around game in the conference, or more grit and hustle, or a better temperament than Mik!

I'm sure if it were the PAC-12 coaches voting, Mikayla would get votes, or, at least she would be recognized on the PAC-12 First Team. Sportscasters and writers don't always acknowledge the complete players, and instead vote for the media darlings.

If I was voting for player of the year, I admit that I would struggle between Ionescu and Angiwe. I might actually vote for Angiwe because Ionescu's stats are down during Pac-12 play and Angiwe is just absolutely killing it on the boards Nobody else is even close....6 rebounds per game better than anyone else. Smith is a great player, but I don't think the other two has put up better stats. Pivic is sensational. She is doing it all for the Beavs, and deserves consideration.
I really like Cate Reese of Azizona for freshman of the year, but Edwards may very well deserve it more.
You gotta like Aleah for the Sixth Player of the Year. There was a stretch just before Kat went down that Kat, Aleah, and Jo would all enter the game about the same time, and they would give the Beavs a real shot in the arm. It would have really been interesting to see who would have been the Beavs "6th Player" had Kat not been injured. This team has played great, but it would have been nice having the 3pt threat that Kat would have brought to some of these games when the ball seeming doesn't want to drop.

For a brief instant during a recent Pac-12 broadcast of an OSU game, I wondered why the play by play announcer called her "McPivek"...Had they botched her name and/or confused her name with McWilliams?....and then I quickly realized...duhhhhhhh!! Brain fart.

The announcers did say a few times there is no better player than "Pivek" in the league. But then again these ladies are all over the place during broadcasts lol

Each year I HATE the all defensive teams. The top defensive teams are Oregon State, Stanford, and Oregon (yeah, I know, but they've made huge strides). But on the defensive list there
is one player from those teams on Michelle's list. It's all based on who has the most steals and blocks. But the teams with the most steals is a who's who of the losers in the Pac-12.
Most blocks and defensive shooting percentage has the highest correlation to winning. Molina on the all defensive team? She's a good guard, but they are probably the worst defensive
team in the conference.
