There are some really interesting story lines developing here for the coming years..... Aleah seems like a superstar in the making, no telling what her ceiling is at this point. With the backcourt talent we have on hand in the form of Kat, Mik, DS and Aleah, the real question becomes the trajectory of PM, the hopeful activation of AA, and the question of how much contribution we can get out of the newbies.......this could be an incredibly potent team in the next year or two, just with the talent we have on hand. And if we continue recruiting the way we have.....when is season ticket renewal again?
Well deserved honor for Aleah, her performance, along with Jo's (and KTMac in the UCLA game) has led to a better stretch these last 3 games than I suspect most had anticipated. Good to see the ESPN folks are paying attention. I also note who else is in the picture of Aleah's in the ESPN article, and the other player in the picture was not nominated :-).
Go Beavers!

GO GOODMAN!!!! She deserves it. I wonder how many reserves, non starters, get the award?

I did a quick look for this, but I think this is first ESPNW player of the week for OSU since Jamie Weisner - January 2015. Maybe someone will find one that I missed (Syd? Marie?) Jamie POWI'm guessing it is somewhat unusual for the ESPNW POW to not also be the POW for their respective conference. From the Pac12 page for their POW this week it looks like Mikayla was nominated but not Aleah. I think either would have been a good choice.

It seems that Kara and Adam haven't come down from the high they got in Gill. I believe that they are part of the vote, and I think they wanted to put an exclamation mark on that celebration of elite women's basketball that they were a part of Monday.

Pretty awesome for a bench player to get national player of the week award. Aleah is a special talent. Also gotta love those 93% free throw shooters.

At the beginning article it sounds like just three people vote on this award. I could be wrong. Aleah may not start the games but she does finish them!

Aleah Goodman is low-key the MVP of the team. I almost want to say she is the best player on the team. She steps up in big games and when the team has needed her.

This is my favorite - clock running down, launches......and starts running back down the court, knowing its true. I marvel at the fact that she has taken several steps down the court before the ball goes through the net. Rainbow 3's, just like Kat.....

Aleah may not start the games but she does finish them! Reminds me of back in '83-84, where a young Clyde Drexler wasn't yet starting, but Coach Ramsay would put in him the game at crunch time, and Bill Schonely remarked about a young player not starting, but finishing games. I like the comparison for it's implied trajectory

I marvel at the fact that she has taken several steps down the court before the ball goes through the net. Rainbow 3's, just like Kat..... Go Beavers! Love the play design of this overall. McBuckets looks like she doesn't use Jo's screen properly and drives baseline away from it. Aleah fakes like she might follow to the basket, waits for Jo to flip her screen and then pushers here player under Jo's screen. Jo then seals her defender from Aleah's spot she's headed to while Aleah's defender slides to wide to cover (effectively going around a double-screen). Aleah finds her spot right when Katie spins gets cut off and is looking for Aleah right where she's expected to be. Aleah's defender really needs to go high on Jo's screen, but Aleah fakes the basket cut getting the defender too deep for that to be an option. Really beautifully orchestrated.
