Pivec, Slocum, Tudor, and Goodman can rotate among the 2 guard positions and wing next year - average of 30 minutes per person. Knock that down by 3 or 4 minutes each to get Simmons 12 to 15 minutes per game. That leaves 80 minutes for Corosdale, Brown, Jones, Morris, Washington, Aquino, and the other freshman whose name escapes me at the moment. Not enough minutes to go around. That's why I think Scott's going to redshirt the other freshman whose name escapes me at the moment. My worry next year is that some of our players are unhappy with their PT. How do you take all of our bigs, all with talent (PM, AA, JM, KB, TJ, TC) and get them meaningful minutes? I do NOT believe we'll see any redshirt. Not only because I'm sure they won't want to redshirt, but because they're all capable of contributing if they can get on the floor. Specifically, regarding Mitrovic, please look at her video and watch her hands, footwork, and passing: Her footwork and her ability to put the ball on the floor on offense near the hoop are already on the same level as Kalani Brown's. She has great hands and court sense. With some technique training on defense and after learning the plays, she can be an immediate contributor. You can't teach 6'9". Where she is lacking is speed. She'll be slow defending centers who can shoot from distance and slow getting downcourt. But as far as her basic basketball skills and physical coordination, she has these already at the tender age of 18 and far in excess of anything Grymek has. With a little training and with that height, she would start for virtually any team in the country. And all you naysayers can just hold your tongues regarding "have to wait and see" and "no freshman will be ready" and on, and on, for thickhead has spoken and it would be fruitless to argue with him. No fruit for you, no fruit at all! Only some raisins maybe.

Her ability to locate shooters when double teamed was excellent. If she can do that next year, Kat and Aleah are going to have a field day shooting.

How do you take all of our bigs, all with talent (PM, AA, JM, KB, TJ, TC) and get them meaningful minutes? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You give them a chance to compete for playing time. I think the new players coming in all believe they will win out. It is the players who are on the team now who already are not getting enough time on the court. Take Kelmer for example. She knew her time would diminish considerable this season so she transferred out. You can not blame players for doing that. For some players who are not anticipating continuing their basketball careers after college sitting on the bench is no problem. But for others they will want to get more court time. Scott, unlike Greaves, does give his bench players court time in easy games. He doesn't play his starters 35 minutes ever game and that will keep some players happy. I assume he is also forthright in informing his players what they can expect the next season so that they can make an appropriate decision. As to all the post players they will have next season. Some of them at least will play the PF and with Kennedy the wing position. He can rotate and give them all a chance to show what they can do allowing the cream to rise to the top. Let the ones that are not getting playing time transfer? If they are smart they will stay long enough to develop their game. This is how Geno used to get multiple highly rated players to commit to his program. They knew he would be able to develop and bring out the best in them. Scott now has the reputation of being the Post whisperer. Post players are flocking to the OS program while other programs who really need posts can not even get one. As long as they are given an opportunity enough will stay happy and not transfer. It is in systems like Greaves and Geno run that will eventually result in fewer players committing. Geno is hurting for post commits. Cal will only have one post coming back next season. Greaves actions in respect to Giomi will eventually continue to bit him in the rear. Anyone with a brain can realize that he doesn't run a system that utilizes traditional posts. The word must not yet have reached down under yet, because he does have a commit from Australia, but it eventually will.
