No, she’s not Ruth and she’s not Marie. But the growth in her ability and her confidence during these last two months has been inspiring to watch.
And the thing is, she’s still expanding her abilities - game by game, literally.

Well put.
She is being the best Jo she can. She gives 100% and most fans appreciate that. After all, that is what Coach Rueck wants.

Just love her effort. She works SO hard and I loved how she sent some bodys flying, I guess it's last night. Have season tickets, drove up from Roseburg with "BFF" from high school. Buds for 52 years, his first womens game. What a game. Back up Friday for the weekend. Good night.

If you told me a season ago that we would be depending on Jo (for the most part) as our post presence, I would question whether or not we were a top-5 team in the Pac-12. A year later and she is helping us upset the #2 team in the country! She does a great job of using her length to alter shots, and now she is an aggressive rebounder too. No more getting the ball taken off of her after a rebound either, she chins and secures the ball. She works so hard and it is so awesome to see it all pay off! We will miss her next season!

The progress and improvement Jo has shown since December is absolutely stunning....I don't know what goes on in daily practice with her, but it is obvious that she is dedicated, hard working, and remarkably disciplined. Her coaching has obviously been first rate....But in fairness, a lot of players do not respond in impressive fashion to first rate coaching - but Jo sure the hell has...
Her court demeanour has completely changed --she acts tough and even (once in a while) looks tough...she rips rebounds where before she fondled them, she outlets quickly and with authority.....I cannot think of any player on this team who has grown more this season than Jo....She made a difference last night - a big difference. After last night opposing teams, for the first time, will have to gameplan for her. I doubt if there is a coach in the Pac (other than Rueck) who thought that would ever come to be...
Coach had lots of reasons to smile last night, but Jo's play not only made him smile, it warmed his heart.
She is a remarkable success story - for herself, for determination, for good coaching, and for OSU basketball.... GO BEAVS !!

However, look at Patricia Morris' performance last night. A spectacular block and some great rebounds. She needs to get a lot more time on the court. I don't understand what's up with Rueck that he doesn't play her. PM's got good hands and can rebound, while Jo still has trouble in those areas.

Trish definitely is going to be and already is a very good rebounder. She really leaps up when she is grabbing them and then chins the ball strongly. She has gone from barely being able to get minutes against cupcakes to getting minutes against the #2 team in the country. Her improvement has been huge. Jo is just more mature and has a better feel for the game at this point. Much more experienced.

That was quite the center rotation we had last night, and by the 4th it was really into the ucks heads. They spent a lot of effort trying to get inside, but Jo was in their way and they basically forgot about the key. Am proud of Jo forcing them to change their shots, for banging (when a uck got fouled by Jo, she felt it! And for Morris's effort, for Maddie - I love this game!

Jo most likely knows the offense and defense significantly more than Trish so she get a lot more playing time. No doubt Trish is more athletic and quicker, just not as strong or physical....she will, if not already, be a better rebounder and defender by this time next year....but I like what Jo is doing and she continues to improve all the time.

Scoring 3 times rather easily. She had to come right out. tsdtr did that only once that I saw last night. Of course Hebbard was out too. They probably were more perimiter oriented as a necessity. Trish ripped down one rebound hard. She started from FT line I think and really wrapped up with authority. I had to double take on that one

Ruthy tried to take it to Trish and she scored once but Trish made her taje a tough shot the next time. She didn’t play the most competitive basketball, so to go up against Hebard and Anigwe is a pretty big deal, and she handled it well, very OSU like.
Still can’t get over the block on I!

Hebard scored twice on Trish, Trish got a near-block and rebound once. That's not a bad start for Trish against one of ESPN's National Top 25 Pleyers. If Hebard had stayed in, I think Trish would have been able to refine her timing and do even better. Trish's +/- was +5, so we clearly weren't suffering when she was in.
(Maddie was -8, and our only player with a negative +/-. Maddie's superior footwork and timing just wasn't enough to compensate for being 6'1".)

The good news is that we are getting the defensive post play (changing shots, defensive rebounds) we need at this point in the season. Both Jo and Trish are in the rotation when OSU plays opposing teams with solid BIGS. Maddie is very effective against teams where we need to play more agile and quick BIGs. Our post rotation is getting better every game, which is what is needed as we round out the regular season and move into tournament time. My one concern lately has been Taya. She is not playing aggressive, and, seems hesitant on defense and offense. Taya turned it around in the NCAA playoffs, and hopefully, she will get more aggressive again.

Taya’s defense was not too good. That was a matchup they tried to take advantage a lot. Whether it was a switch or just Sabally taking her 1 on 1. I’m interested to see to what degree Aquino or Brown would be able to guard Sabally. Obviously those two are much longer than Corosdale, but are they as quick? Defense isn’t solely based of quickness, and watch a game of OSU WBB and you’ll find that out real fast.
Maddie played a lot at the four yesterday, and she doesn’t exactly have the skills to play the 4 in Rueck’s system. The 4 is often relied on to hit outside shots, and that isn’t a strength of Maddie’s game.
A 6’5+ big is a big part of Rueck’s system, especially one that can control the paint defensively, and that is why we are seeing more and more of Trish and Jo.
