Yeah that "most recruited" got me too! Without looking it up, I'm sure Kevin Love was recruited by everyone... Even Kyle Singler had offers from Duke, Kansas, UNC and the Pac10 if I remember correctly... or were we P12 back then? Anyhow, I'm not sold on the Gator just yet. Wasn't Charlie Sitton like #1 in the nation coming out of McMinnville? Yep - recruiting wasn’t as broadly followed with no social media, etc. but Charlie could have played anywhere he chose, and the only reason that his list wasn’t crazy long of blue blood offers was that he was an unabashed farm kid who wanted to keep irt simple. Fortunately, OSU was a top 20 program and fit perfectly for him at the time. Richard Washington from Benson was also rated #1 in the nation in the early 70’s when he took his talents to Westwood, Love was in the top 3 in his class, Singler was top 5 the same year, and Brian Jackson was rated a top 10 player in the late 90’s and chose OSU. All of those guys were 6’9” plus and fantastic, able to dominate against anyone. Even 6’7” Michael Dunleavy, Jr. was in rare air. Every one of those kids could have gone anywhere they wanted, but now the social media hype machine can make pretenders look legit. I have no idea how good Bittle is, but if he was as good as the tweet claims, I agree with others that his team should be untouchable at the 5A level unless he’s the only player they have.

The kid is scrawny, but he's got some handle, and plays today's game... rarely goes inside. Almost never on offense. The game was marred by maybe the worst HS officiating I've ever seen. Silverton ws aggressive and bodies up, reaches, and was physical. But, they initiated contact yet Crater was called for 13 offensive offs, and that's when we began counting. Bittle was given three of those although Silverton was the better team the three idiots in stripes made sure it was all about them. Second game was a terrible matchup... Wilsonville was up 19-4 immediately over Pendleton... 47-19 by the time I left in the 3rd. Afternoon session the same mismatched teams... +19, +30, +27... except Thurston losing to Willamette by 5. 6A was worse... 1st Rd winners +94, all double digit wins with a 10 pointer the closest game. Out of curiosity, anyone know how Bittle compares to the kid at Columbia Christian? I guess he's getting a lot of early interest from everyone, held his own at the Les Schwab tourney... Just looked up the name - Ben Gregg, sophomore - listed at 6'8". Just found an older article that says we offered (along with WSU and Texas) 247sports.com/college/oregon-state/Article/2021-Ben-Gregg-Columbia-Christian-update-recruiting-washington-State-oregon-state-texas-124436696/

Both aren't physically developed, both don't play with much talent around them. CC is even at a lower tier than the really weak 5A level. Not sure how they lose at CC with a heavily recruited D1 kid the next two years unless it's vs out of state teams. Both have inside and out games, but Bittle has better handle in my opinion, can create, delivers some great passes. Of they progress physically either/both would be the best recruits WT has landed.

Wherever he goes, he needs to eat, eat and eat some more before he gets there. He's painfully skinny.

Yeah I'm no expert by any means, but I imagine both are kids that one would need to evaluate on the summer tourney circuit against much better competition.
