Ugly game.
Seven errors, four by us.
Both teams left eleven on base.
They outhit us 9-6. We may have squared up one ball today. We have struggled offensively the last two games.
In preseason tournaments any game that is tied after seven starts the eighth inning with a runner on second for both teams. In the top half of the eighth our first batter fails at the first two bunt attempts and then strikes out. Their first batter lays down a pretty bunt and the next hitter homers.
We didn't get our first hit until the fifth and eventually scored three to go up 4-1 but the dreaded 'I score you score' happened and they cut it to 4-3. They scored one in the seventh and we were fortunate not to lose it then because the bases were loaded with two outs when we got the third out.
I was going to say that this was one of those games where I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but I'm always waiting for that and it did.
The game was on the web so I got to watch it and we had many poor at bats.
