Does Elle get razzed for not breaking into the 1000 point club? I hear the Tinkles are fairly competitive.... And ~5000 of those points were scored by non-Beavers, some even against the Beavers, which is interesting. As is the fact that this almost smacks of individual accolades, not team accolades.
That said, it does point out that the Tinkles are a basket ball playing dynasty, and one of some accomplishment.
Though yes, this kind of thing feels like a Christmas time thing (at least there was not a multi-page letter describing the year's events that I have to appear to have read when the author is encountered elsewhere in the year........and this mostly from the same crowd that puts pictures of their breakfast up on Facebook, so there is no suspense to the letter......but I digress).
Go Beavers!

Seeing those totals makes me wonder how many points Reggie and Cheryl Miller scored. Cheryl went for over 100 in a high school game.

I guarantee you that wasn't the idea of any of the Tinkles. One of the staff must have been curious - the Tinkles have probably heard the question a million times - and looked it up. They probably have been sitting on it all season, waiting for Tres to get close to his dad's number. And it's a good idea - this is the sort of thing that gets attention from the broader media. I bet we see a few stories on national web sites, the Oregonian, and so on. And that's a good thing.

That's a guaranteed thing.

Pretty cool actually.... talented family for sure. A great story to tell I think. regardless of strict on the court results, Tinkle has been nothing but a stellar representative of Oregon State. using his family as a low-key marketing point is not a bad thing. Unless of course, we are still concerned about the monster Jos...

That thing is weird...looks almost competitive in an unhealthy way. I could care less about the scoring point totals of kids who went to schools other than OSU.

It's a cool story of family that all played competitively and represented multiple universities well. Colleges are all throwing things out promoting schools, athletes, stats etc on that there internet thingy.

Stephen beats them all In fact Junior beats them all as well If Tres sticks around next year too he might catch them both, maybe... Stephen Thompson, Syracuse, 1956 total points (four years) Stephen Thompson Jr., OSU, 1659 total points (and counting) Ethan Thompson, OSU, 644 total points (and counting)

Tells a great story.
