With our weekend performance, any thoughts on the rankings this week? How does it impact bracketology?
***I'm very new here...and learning every day. Thanks in advance.****

It will be interesting because Stanford beat us pretty good, but got THUMPED by tsdtr.

I'm not an expert, so we'll see how my thoughts pan out. The six teams in front of the Beavs will all remain there, and oregon's impressive win over Stanford could actually move them up a spot, but probably not.
Marquette sits right behind us at #8, and have won something like 12 in a row, so I think they will take over the #7 spot. NC state has now lost two in a row, and will remain behind the Beavs. So, I'm thinking it all comes down to Maryland and Stanford. I'm going to guess Maryland passes the Beavs, but Stanford stays behind the Beavs in the rankings despite a strong victory over the Beavs, because of their terrible showing against the ducks. I can't see South Carolina, who stands at #12 moving past the Beavs just yet.
My guess is Marquette gets #7, Maryland gets #8, and Oregon State gets #9. How the coaches view a pretty good thumping from Stanford combined with Stanford getting crushed by Oregon, remains to be seen. It's possible they drop the Beavs to #10 behind NC State, or Stanford, with a slim chance South Carolina passes the Beavs. Obviously, that wouldn't sit well with us since we beat South Carolina, and South Carolina has more losses.

#9. rmancarl had a great read of the situation. Thanks for your thoughts. No change in the top three spots (Baylor, Louisville, Oregon). UConn up to #4. Maryland up three spots to #7. Beavs down two spots to #9. Stanford up one spot to #10 despite the 40-point thumping that it absorbed against Oregon yesterday. www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/rankings

Charlie Creme, espn, has the Beavers a #4 seed in the Albany (UCONN #1 seed) bracket, which basically means he has OSU as #16. But Charlie has never thought highly of OSU Beavers WCBB Team. The 1st "reveal" tonight is far more important than the AP Poll. Given OSU's remaining schedule is pretty darn tough, where we are positioned by the committee in the 1st reveal should tell us how we must perform in the final 6 games + PAC-12 Tournament, in order to host the 1st 2 rounds at Gill.

Actually, that's closer to the number 13. Uconn is the last 1 seed if you read his article about the bracket.

Always interesting to me to see how each person voted, which you can see here: AP Poll WBB Week 15The Beavers are as high as 7 and as low as 14. LaChina Robinson (Raycom) has us at 7 and Ryan Thorburn (Register Guard) has us at 14. Stanford is as high as 7 and as low as 17. Amusing to me is that Kirsta Pirtle (Waco Tribune) has Baylor at 1 and Stanford at 17, despite Stanford beating Baylor earlier this season. Utah was 11th two weeks ago and is now out of the 25. losing 4 in a row is apparently not good for your ranking.

Our remaining 6 games are against teams whose RPI's are 4, 4, 49, 37, 18, and 80, and ours is up to 30. How we do in these games determines our seeding, plain and simple.

Would be nice to get to watch the Beavers play March madness in Portland but looks like a slim chance at this point. Need to beat $uck$ twice and win PAC-12 tournament for chance to play in Portland. Can’t order tickets unless it’s guaranteed.

You're probably right, but I don't understand why the NCAA does that. If the Beavs are going to be given a 2 seed, and the Ducks a 1, I understand why the Beavs go elsewhere. But if we wind up, say, a 5 seed, why can't we stay in the regional we're hosting? If we make it to the regional round again, why do we host from 2,000 miles away?
