Oregon average home attendance over the years:
2014 - 1,038 2015 - 1,501 2016 - 1,629 2017 - 2,595 2018 - 4,255
Dramatic uptick in attendance since the arrival of the monster recruiting class and the team's success. Good for them. I have no idea if they offer promotions like we do, or let students in for free, or how they do it. Doesn't much matter, just as it doesn't matter how we put fannies in the seats. The only thing that matters is that those fannies are, indeed, in the seats, and we'll have plenty of them Monday night.
We're going to average way over 5,000 per game this year, which will be the highest in the Rueck years. And, we're going to do it again next year as well. Will the Ducks fare as well if Ionescu leaves? Who knows? Washington historically averaged about 2,000, but, in Kelsey Plum's senior year, it was 4,080. Kelsey left, and so did the additional 2,100 fans per game.
Our attendance is in the top 20 in the nation, and will be for the foreseeable future. That's pretty impressive in a small market like Corvallis. I'm all in favor of just focusing on the tremendous number of good things happening within our program. The school down the road? What happens there, happens.

What happens there, happens. You forgot to add this year which is at 6500 plus which means a jump in attendance of roughly 1600 from '17 to '18 and a 2000 plus jump from '18 to '19. That's 4000 in two years. The biggest jump the beavers had in a two year span was 2000. I'm not naïve to think that winning doesn't fill the seats. My experience is that duck fans are more interested than beaver fans in being 'on the map' if you will. What does this mean in the scope of life? Nothing but it's sure fun to talk about. Go Beavs!!!

Oregon's attendance will fall off dramatically next year, or the year after, when SI is gone and their team doesn't win as much. Ours will stay steady. People support winners. We will continue to be good. Not sure about them.

I don't know if SI is coming back next year or not. Lot's of rumors that she will be leaving, but whatever the case, they should continue to be good for a while. Most likely not as good as this year, but they still have some very nice talent on board, and coming in. It looks to be a real battle between the two schools for years to come, and my bet is on the Beavs being the better team overall. In fact, the Pac-12 looks to continue to be very strong. Stanford doesn't look like they are going away, and UCLA is still landing good recruits. I don't know how it will all shake out over the next few years, but the Beavs will be in the thick of things and be very difficult to beat. I believe there are more Pac-12 championships in the near future, but it will be a battle to get them.
As for attendance, I expect the Beavs will continue to lead the Pac in that number as well, and overall I think attendance will be up conference wide as more team (Utah, Arizona, etc) put together better teams.
And...for the next two years, is there a more exciting player to watch than Destiny? Her ability to leave her defender helpless is super fun to watch.
Go Beavs!
