Ugghh, we are getting housed! This sucks. This is exactly what I worrried about, getting out-atheleted. Jo appears to be completely overmatched because of her lumbering and lack of hands. I’ve seen her repeatedly outhustled on rebounds and isn’t athletic enough to get a shot off, in spite of her size. And our shots aren’t falling. It’s just a terrible combo that is sad to see. We don’t seem like the #7 team in the country. That’s for sure.
Go Beavs.

Brutal! Almost a replica of the men's game, Stanford really has it out for us.

somehow I think the women got a shot. Make some treys, board a bit better. Drive & dish instead of drive and get blocked star of the 2nd half is Aleah I would like to think so but the defense needs to be perfect. Coming into the game I posted on another thread that the defense needed to be at stellar to win. So far not good. Shooting better isn't the only thing needed. Heart over head. Don't take me to Vegas

That's not what I saw. She looked slow and un-athletic. She couldn't corral rebounds when they hit her in her hands and she couldn't accelerate to a loose ball. This makes me wonder if the recent commit from the Serbian 6-9 gal is anything to look forward to or just more of the same. What I'd like to see is an Anigwe (sp?) type athlete (from Cal) at our 5-spot, someone that isn't just big but can move and use skill to get good shots off. Man, this game doesn't make me feel so confident about the UO contest. Maybe Rueck will come up with something to pull the shocker. Go Beavs!!

Ugly game for the Beavs. Couldn't get anything going. This is totally my fault, first two games I've seen this year past 2 days and they both stunk up the court. Furd is good, well coached, and had a plan, and just out hustled the beavs. We are NOT a top 10 team, period, maybe top 20 to be fair, but not a final 4 team for sure. I thought the overall experience would pay dividends, but this team seems to be lacking that piece that ties it all together, i.e. solid leader like Marie, Jamie, etal.. This team will struggle mightily against good teams who have length and a center that can play. Think we may end up about 4th in the PAC this year, 3rd if we continue to improve. Again, this is my fault!!! Kiss of death!!!

Really, did you not see this coming? Stanford plays great at home, is a poor matchup for us with its inside dominance, has great guard play and is well-coached. The longer we play without Tudor the more we are exposed against the better teams in the league.
She was our best outside shooter, needed no time to pull the trigger, stretched the defense and created room for Slocum to drive and/or dish, was a long-armed defender, and an underappreciated rebounder. We've covered up her loss pretty well, but we dearly miss her.
This was always going to be a "rebuilding" year after Gulich graduated, even with Slocum becoming eligible. Then we discover our best potential replacement for Gulich can't play, and on top of that we lose an all-conference guard 12 games in. We've probably overachieved. Survive this season, maybe get to the Sweet 16.
If Aquino gets cleared, if the recruits are as good as advertised and if Tudor can be 90% of her pre-injury form next year, we can make a serious run back to the FF.

Our 2nd leading scorer who was perfect from the field and the line. If you think Jo was the reason we lost, you’re nuts.

Most here are higher on Kennedy Brown than Taylor Jones it seems, but I really hope I am correct in thinking Taylor could potentially walk into the 5 spot. She was at one time ranked the #1 post in 2019 by PN. She is 6’3”, which is short compared to what we’ve seen from Grymek, Gulich, and Hamblin, but she is an athlete and has unreal length. If Kennedy, Taylor, or Andrea could step in the 5 spot, I think we may be in good shape. I love Maddie and what she brings to the team, but she isn’t the true “5” that we are lacking.
