No real update I can find on Caitlin Clark's recruiting, but I see Iowa State now has two top PG's committed for 2020. Hard to believe Ms. Clark would want to be their third, but some on the Iowa State board seem to think they still have a shot. Notre Dame seems to be the heavy favorite by some, but they already have a top 2019 PG and another committed for 2020. Oregon may still be on her radar, but they too already have a top 2019 PG and a top 2020 PG. I don't know what the picture is at Iowa and Drake, but I will look into their recruiting next. If you compare the first 3 schools to Oregon State's PG recruiting, it seems to be a no brainer that the Beavers have the greatest need: Number of PGs in 2018 class: ZERO. Number of PGs in 2019 class: ZERO. Number of PGs in 2020 class: ZERO so far.
Note: according to Notre Dame's board, Clark is still a high target, in part they say because Campbell (their 2020 commit still listed as a PG by ESPN) is now regarded as an off guard, possibly a wing, so: - point guard is a natural target"

Quite honestly, just because a player is ranked a PG by HoopGurlz does not mean they are one. Take Pivec for example. She is not a true PG, but that was the position they designated to her. I’m not sure if that is the case with either of Iowa State’s other PG commits or not, but at times it can be misleading and hard to tell. Notre Dame had two commits in 2018 and one in 2019 who were tabbed “PG”s, but they claim none of the three will play PG there. Oregon is very hopeful that they can add Clark/Van Lith to play alongside their new PG commit.
On an interesting note - Olson now feels that Van Lith projects as a G, not a PG in college.

Of course I realize the designations are imprecise in a lot of cases. I was just trying to make a simple comparison that suggests Oregon State may or does have a bigger need/void/gap at PG (and G) for 2020 (at least ON PAPER) compared to other leading contenders for the services of Ms. Goforth. In further regards to Notre Dame, they also say that their 2020 PG recruit (Campbell) is not a point guard either! Apparently, Notre Dame likes to recruit point guards (4) who are not really point guards (same 4). Guess that means they still have plenty of room for Ms. Clark....ok, whatever works. ndnation.com/boards/showpost.php?b=mcgraw;pid=58694;d=this

I agree...not doubt we still have the biggest opening for a 2020s last three years at the PG position year, as they would face virtually no competition.
