Sabrina is shooting 44.7% from 3 which puts here in the top 20 in the country - ahead of anybody on OSU, including Aleah. She's even ahead of her teammates Sabally and Boley. So she's the best 3pt shooter on the #2 ranked 3pt FG% team (only behind OSU) ... hard to argue she's not an 'elite' shooter.
Ionescu shot exceptionally well against non-conference competition earlier this season. However, for those who have referenced her declining shooting of late in conference games, that is likely what contributed to the reference to Ionescu not being an "elite" shooter. I know that she shot relatively poorly (39.0%) from the field as a freshman, but improved to 46.8% overall from the field as a sophomore before regressing a bit to 44.6% this season. Ionescu has shot very well from three-point range throughout her collegiate career, reflective of being a very good set shooter when she has time to launch from beyond the arc. She has proven to be an "elite" three-point shooter in college, but is far from an elite shooter with respect to her overall shooting percentage from the field.
If you force Ionescu off the three-point line and don't bail her out with fouls when she is in the act of shooting (she has a tendency to flail even when she is not touched), she is far from an elite two-point field goal shooter. Her career and per season shooting stats are shown in the link below and bear out that reality.
