Phil Frey, passed away on Sunday evening. Heart attack is what I heard. He was always a friendly and great guy. Will be greatly missed. His son Andy wrestled for OSU & Joe Wells also. Thoughts and prayers to the family.
He was one of the featured alumni wrestlers shown on the big screen during the Michigan dual meet. He made that match and fan club social afterwards.
Rest in peace Phil

Oh wow, that is a shock. His bother Bill passed away a few years ago under similar sudden circumstances. They named a street for Bill here in Salem. Their parents ran a small grocery store in the Hayesville neighborhood for many, many years (Frey's Thriftway). My dad and Phil and Bill's dad were pretty good friends too.
So sad.

Phil was my boss at Chemeketa for 15 years. I could not have asked for a better supervisor/mentor.
The world is a better place having Phil in it and I am a better person having known him.
Thoughts and prayers to all of his family and friends.
