Can someone explain why asu sent Courtney out to face Bresser instead of #6 Millhof. Millhof did not seem very happy about the decision.
I ask because 90% of my wrestling i.q. came to me this year when my 2nd grader joined the mat club.

Not sure, I think by the time 125 came around, ASU coaches felt comfortable going with Courtney.

Bresser really is 50/50 if he wants to wrestle. Shoot he tried a bunch of shots first 2 mins of 1st period then gets tired and lazy. Almost lost to unranked kid. Willits boys look good and of course Dhesi but man scary where this program will be next few years

I saw Bresser point to someone after the match. I was wondering if it was Millhof??? At any rate, to me Bresser looked disinterested! Almost like, well if I don't get to wrestle their best guy then I am not going to show anything???

That could be but what a better way to send a message then to tech or pin the guy. I just want guys going out wrestling hard every single time. You see the Nolfs and Nickel wrestlers want to dominate and get bonus points every single time! Nolf just beat #2 Berger 10-4 and if Berger wasnt stalling the whole time since he has been teched last 2 times wouldnt of at least majored him.

I found the whole thing unsettling. You don't win National Championships that way! |

I ask because 90% of my wrestling i.q. came to me this year when my 2nd grader joined the mat club. Is it possible Milhof didn't make weight? Its possible. Millhof was ready to walk on the mat. He was all warmed up, out of his warm ups and ready to go when Courtney got the nod. He then threw his head gear and stormed into the tunnel. He returned near the end of the Bresser - Courtney match. It definitely seemed that Bresser wasn't excited about the match up he got. I expected him to pin Courtney or really go after him. What seemed strange to me was that a fall from Bresser would have given the Beavs much needed points and a good chance at a team win. I don't know Courtneys history but it seemed odd to me that you take the 6th ranked guy in that weight class out of the equation in that situation. When it was all over, all the Beavers took time to talk to my boys, sign posters and take pictures. I thought that was really awesome, and so did my boys. Thanks for everybody's insight! |
