Center jump matters little during the first 4 quarters, because each team gets ball to start 2 quarters. OT, it's a different story. I applaud the thought of trying something different to start the Second OT. Wish the thinking had gone a little further outside the box and the Beavs had called on Morris instead.

Painful loss. But these kind of games will help them get ready for the tougher ones coming up.

Wonder if Rueck is having any second thoughts about his technical that cost his team 2 points? In a tight game every point matters. Definitely the case in this one.

ASU is a very, very good team and I think there is collectively little doubt about that. They were hungry for this win. Thats what close losses to Stanford, Baylor, and Oregon will do.

Missing Tudor is huge. The offense is not the same without her.

We are talking like we got mauled by Uconn here. We lost a tough game by one or two shots, in which didn't play well. No one wins this conference undefeated. The pieces are there (even if one is injured) they just have to play tougher.

I agree, we are so missing an inside game. Bless Jo's heart but she's limited. This team will make the tourney and maybe even get to the sweet 16 but I would be surprised with a deeper run than that. I guess if a round of 16 season is a down year than we should feel pretty dog-gone blessed that this is the state of our program!! I did see AA was dressed for the game which I find interesting for someone that is red-shirting. I wonder if she's progressing faster than expected. Once we get a good 5 to make opponents not favor the outside we'll be back to championship form. Gotta make free throws though.
Go Beavs!!

For all of the talk about little movement by the mens team the womens team stands around a lot and waits for the dribbler to create something. The last possession is a prime example. I have seen the mens team have more movement than the womens team. Now, I didn't get to see the whole game but parts of the game I did see there was a lot of standing around. I don't know how Tudor missing would have made a difference if everyone waits for the dribbler to create something. This team checks out at the most important times. Shooting a lot of threes is an issue if you miss. The Beavers were 10 for 27 beyond the arc. Live by the three and die by the three. Without a consistent inside presence this team will struggle at times relying on the three. Yes, they would have won by hitting a few more threes but they didn't. This will be the way games will go until the inside game is found. Hit a lot of threes win. Miss threes and hold on for dear life or lose. Seriously would you worry about any inside game from the Beavers when you game plan? P.S. Why not try Morris inside more? Admittedly there is much we do not understand, but I also keep wondering why Morris does not get more playing time.

Random observations......
- Great, loud crowd. - Horrid FT shooting - by some usually more reliable FT shooters. That was the game, right there. We thought we had corrected the issue, but clearly when it was obvious we were in a game where every point would count, several of our players got tight. - We were short on shots all night long, but esp. in the first half. Wonder what was going on there...... - Outside shots not falling to the degree we like, not getting as clean of shots as we are accustomed to, and thinking too much before taking shots - Dribbling without purpose led us to get trapped/stuck in places that brought the offensive flow to a screeching halt - DS is still a bit excitable, leads to 1-2 TOs a game. Needs to cultivate a "cold blooded killer" mentality - Needed a "designated fouler" at the end not named Aleah, she is capable of the NBA 3, and we might have thought to go to her down the strectch - Ibis was unstoppable. At some point, do you consider selling out on her and saying "the rest of you will need to beat us, we won't let Ibis". - We don't have a great inside game this year - at least we don't have a "sure thing" scorer in the paint. Missed some easy shots, Maddies turnaround fall back was not working as well, there goes what little paint game we have. - Regarding speculation on AA, I sure hope we don't burn her RS year at this late stage. I would rather see what PM might bring to the table. - Refs were crappy, but with a little better game on our part (in areas we still controlled), that wouldn't have mattered. - Substitution patterns were a bit puzzling in this one as well. - While the "Fire up the team with a T" strategy is an old one, SR sure played the part of the surprised coach after getting his. - SunDevils are deep and well-coached. Dangerous team come Pac-12/NCAA tourney time. With the right matchups and if they get hot, they could go far. - Losing 12 ppg in the form of Kat (and her outstanding FT shooting) is going to hamper this team. - I sure hope half the ASU roster is seniors, many of those names seem to have been around for a while. - Gratifying that even though we were playing at a B/C level, it took 2 OTs and a superstar output from Ibis to put us away.....we could have beaten UA with this effort, and ASU with the game we had against UA. - I will have to go back and check, but the pink unis and dam cancer games don't seem to have been kind to us......
Hopefully we can remain in the top-4 of the Pac-12, but there are some tough games ahead for us...... Jalena(?) take note, we could use you inside!
Go Beavers!

I admit I'm baffled by this game.
First half Kianna was under control, and Katie guarded her most of the time. 2nd half she went wild and Katie never guarded her, that I noticed anyway.
The Beav's tried to force the ball inside over and over so that the Devils got 6 blocks. Their next highest total in blocks is 3, mostly they get 1.
And no, the problem wasn't our posts. They got a combined 16 points and 9 rebounds.
Last year ASU tried to beat the Beav's using the same game plan two times. The second time they got hammered. I hope we don't get that same lesson.

Missing Tudor is huge. The offense is not the same without her. We also miss Kat's defense. She is a great defender, and would have been a tough cover on Reili Richardson.
