I was getting a little worried not having any high school freshman commit. Lol. I see the first one today. Class of 2022.

Put the worry beads away, we are underway with the class of 2022 with two early commitments. Was your discovery one of these kids?
MIF Gavin Turley from Midway, Utah - Wasatch HS R/R 6'0 150. Ranked #2 in Utah and # 158 nationally by RPG. Smooth with a good stroke. Does some pitching as well.
RHP Tyler Gough from Perris, CA - Heritage HS R/R 6-1 175 Ranked #25 in California and #166 nationally by RPG. Touched 87 mph several times in tournament play as a 14 u competitor. Also plays SS-3B.
Both kids are playing their freshman years of HS ball this spring.
* Everyone wants to play baseball for the Oregon State Beavers. A class program capable of winning "Natties".

Not worried at all. Actually find some humor in the high school frosh commits. Of course, there are so many national tournaments and showcases that the probable top guys are identified early. And from what I have seen, the vast majority stick to their early verbals. Gough was the guy I was talking about in the earlier post. Turley popped up a day or so later on PG. I really do appreciate all your info. The baseball and wbb recruiting info in Benny's House really is outstanding.

Henry - you're an expert on all things dork? That's an interesting admission.

I think he is the highest ranked player to ever commit to Beaver baseball. At the same time, players ranked this highly rarely attend college. I hope he is the exception.

Mick Abel is currently ranked #5 in PG’s 2020 class rankings. Reed is #5 in their 2021 rankings. So as of right now he’s tied. Still time to clim a little higher though.
