The Chargers have 3rd and goal from the two and run it up the gut against the number one defense. The Ravens have third and two for a first down and run it up the gut and that's with Lamar Jackson and all the options he affords the play call.
Thinking the OC's in the NFL are of the brightest minds in football and make these calls is mind boggling.

BUT, they and others THINK they are. Seems that some coaches try to "out coach/guess" others coaches versus just playing to their own strengths. The "this is what is obvious and what they think we'll do" being a deciding factor in play calling is more and more prevalent. As the best coaches in history have found, find something that works and repeat it... different formations, flip the play call... but, until they prove they can stop it keep running it. PS- I rarely watch the NFL and if so it is typically snipets here and there. The athleticism and talents are amazing. The arrogance and stupidity sometimes more so.

Go Chargers. My wife started watching Charger games after she found out one of the Chargers went to Cascade High in Turner. Her old school. Lol.
I watch Beaver players in the NFL. About it for my NFL watching. Go Rams, Eagles, Colts, Chiefs without caring much about the games. I hate the Patriots, but I pull for the two Bend Patriots.

My son played against him in high school (basketball). I'm not surprised he is in the NFL. My son also played against Cascade in football and I don't remember him being on the field and with his talent I think I would have remembered. Maybe I wasn't paying attention :-)

Chargers played all night not to lose. Settling for FGs. Going into half time, they ran links and dunks, and ran the ball, milked the clock just to get into FG position. I am really sorry it worked for them, even though they dam near blew it at the end.
