Trish’s post defense will get better as time goes on. I’ve seen quite a few freshman bigs have fouling issues this year. UConn’s Olivia Nelson-Ododa fouled out in 9 minutes, and Texas’ Charli Collier in 16 minutes. They are sometimes too eager to block a shot and will swing down or other times try to make up for being a little late. Trish’s defense will improve as will she. She already looks better than she did early in the season. I would certainly expect for her to have a big off season. Comparable to the improvements we’ve seen from Jo, but she has a higher ceiling than Jo. Jo’s maturity and experience is the biggest difference at this point.

CSU Bakersfield, not UCSB. Right you are. CSUB UCSB is UC Santa Barbara.

Destiny and Aleah, two players with different athletic abilities and skills, but both excellent point guards. As play notches up in the Pac 12, it will be interesting to see how each of them fare against the point guards they face. I'm also curious to see how much floor time they get together, both this season, and over the next couple years.

The sophomore class is a really good one that will most certainly become a great one. It will be fun to watch it play out.

Some interesting points in this post. The first is that Aleah has turned into a top notch player who would start on most teams in the Pac and would be a star on a few others...She is a great balance player, sets up the offence nicely, nails the 3 if you drift even a step away, passes to the post players superbly....She's a good one...
Destiny is a premiere talent. Period. Right now she is struggling with learning a system that has low tolerance for unforced errors, for high-risk passes, for dribbling into trouble. Her primary learning curve right now is how to reduce her errors. Very few players are good enough to have that problem. When she learns to reduce her mistakes, almost all of which are caused by her attack style of play, she will become one of the very best to play at OSU. Yes, one of the VERY best.
Will Goodman and Slocum end up on the floor together. Likely yes. If Tudor gets sick or injured they will be on the floor together a lot...(Tudor thrives when a teammate slashes to the basket and kicks out - - Destiny does this much better than Aleah); Coach likes to play Goodman when Jo is in, and I think it will be the same when PM gets floor time....
All in all, the Beavs have never had two point guards of this skill level in my memory of OSU WBB - which goes back only 10 years....It will be great to watch how Rueck uses them, how they blossom and mature, and how they improve the team with their unique talents and skills... GO BEAVS !!

“...the Beavs have never had two point guards” of this skill level. Agreed! A couple of incredibly exciting thoughts:
a.) 3 PAC 12 seasons still await these two great young players.
b.) what a luxury to have a Destiny & Aleah at point, while also having last years starting point guard, from an Elite-8 team, on the floor - with Mik now able to concentrate on those special aspects that make her one of the finest players on the West Coast.

What a great representative we have in Mik, she is unparalleled in her ability to deflect praise to others. It's not her doing great things it's all about the others that played great to set her up. I'm really glad that we get to see her again next year too.
Aleah will keep putting pressure on Destiny for minutes. The improvement she has made every time she concentrates on a specific aspect is amazing. Every year she is significantly better than she was the year before. This year she appears to have worked on her long passing, she is really whipping that ball around. Obviously she saw an area that Destiny was better in and so put her mind to increasing her strength and and improving her technique. I imagine these two in practice really push each other. Definitely an exciting prospect for the pg position.
