It was cheaper to buy two seats with fees on Stubhub than the 2-1 tix thru OSU. Realistically... he'll get next year 😑

Without the exact #s, which someone will have, I think we're + over $1mil/year this football staff vs GAG. I'm sure we're + $ in the baseball turnover. Now can we find a great young teacher for a nice beginners salary? Lol

Even with the GAG savings, Tinks will get another year.
Romar was just here...maybe we can bring him in on the cheap. After all, he was set to come here and replace Eddie Payne til the AD's office mucked it up at the last minute.

Love Romar... and great recruiter. He and Bone would be great get. And, he'd take lower salary for lower COL. Not sure he or his $2k suits fit Corvallis for very long?!

I’d guess that unless PAC-12 play is a complete s%#t show Tinkle gets another year after this.
I don’t know a ton about Romar’s coaching but didn’t he have a hard time getting some of the highest rated classes in the PAC-12 into the tournament?

Get anywhere despite having outrageous talent. Retread in a $2000 suit. Besides, Wayne is the coach and will be for awhile. Unless he decides to take off after this year. Crazy shlt happens sometimes.

Romar had better players than us when he coached at Washington, yet WT had a winning record against the Huskies.
And we just crushed Romar and Pepperdine this past week.
But let's hire him, by all means.

I'm just not keen to fire a guy who has a program that's not a total trainwreck, until there's some confidence that we have an AD that knows how to make the right hire for OSU basketball (i.e. either some out-of-the-box high-risk thinking (e.g. a Rueck-type high risk leap) or some serious fundraising towards a more likely sure-thing). Rinse and repeating mediocrity isn't worth adding to OSU's financial woes.

No other PAC12 school but OSU would tolerate and retain a coach who's long since proven himself to be as mediocre as has Tinkle.
Men's baskets are generally inept at OSU because we continue to tolerate it. And it will be that way until someone in authority decides this school simply won't put up with it any longer. Put some $$$ together and run a smart national search-- we CAN do much much better.

But let's hire him, by all means. Really? In comparison to WT, successful at multiple stops, totally rebuilt UW,Harrick gave him total credit for the recruiting of the national championship squad at UCLA... 19-9(?) vs OSU overall with some of the worst losses I've seen. But, I think WT was 2-2 vs Romar? 397-289 / 298-195 @uw 8-7 NCAA tourney 4-4 NIT Conf USA tourney title (3) Pac12 tourney titles (2) Pac12/10 regular titles (3) Pac12 COY awards Fired the year he hired best pal Michael Porter Sr, was bringing both Jr and Jontay. Struggled the last 6 years as he admitted he focused too much on NBA types and had rough time controlling their style. Learned his lesson. But, at 60 a definite upgrade over this staff, but not the best option especially over a guy like Musselman. But, Nevada might be a step up hoops wise so why leave unless Pac12 is attractive to him?!
